Got my letter from friend of court today, for income withholding for child support. Ex and I agreed to $700/month this is a deviation from the state calculator and was filed separately. I look at this document and it says $871.50 is my payment including past due amounts.

I call FOC and they said child support shows it started February 2022. She didn't file until July 2022 and we were not divorced until December 2022 and she didn't move out until just after the new year. They said there's a past due balance of $9k which adds up 700/12....

I remember and have emails of the original draft from her attorney for the support deviation order and it said child support starts February 2022. I caught that error and was sent a revised document with white out over the date and it was changed to February 2023.

They were closing as I called close to 5pm so I am waiting to hear back from the friend of court tomorrow and he will discuss this with his supervisor and a caseworker. I'm sure this will be resolved and I won't be on the hook for that past due amount, I just wish I could punch her attorney in the face. My dad said I could sue for emotional distress but it's probably not even worth it. Just annoying that a tiny little typo can cause this shit.
