So, a brief backstory on us. Together nearly 12 years, married for almost 9 with 2 kids (11 and 8), we are now divorcing. She served me papers last week and all throughout this week, we have talked about being amicable and civil through the whole process and she even wants to remain friends afterward.

We both obtained lawyers, but then decided that we were going to negotiate everything together and then have the lawyers put it all into legal jargon for the judge. We have decided on all aspects pending, visitation, child support, accounts/debts, and gone through everything that we own to decide who gets what. In less than 60 days from now, pending no surprises from her, we'll be divorced.

We still currently live together and will continue to do so for at least a few weeks until the house is on the market, and maybe into the closing. The kids are aware that we are divorcing and after a couple days, seemed very fine with me and my STBXW parting ways.

Every year since we've had kids, we have done themed costumes for Halloween and we take a picture together, then go tick or treating. We had made a decision for the theme this year, prior to the divorce papers being served. She had already purchased my costume, I noticed the box yesterday and asked her about it to see what it was. She told me it was the costume, then asked if we're still going to do pictures. I said that I don't know and that I'd get back to her on it.

I don't feel obligated to dress in the costume for these pictures for her, but more for the kids, even if they could care less about the pictures. Should I bother? Currently, I feel like this should be something that I stop doing with her because I dont want to be under the impression that I am a picture prop for her disposal.

My question for you gents: what would you do in this situation? I know each of us have different circumstances surrounding our divorces, but I have torn feelings about participating in this activity or anything else with her involved as this is supposed to be the end. Please let me know what you think.
