Went through this a couple of years ago. What helped is finding ways to make this space my own. Bought a rug, paintings I liked, really made this place home.

Other important thing was to find a hobby that has a community. I took dance classes and go dancing every week. Made a ton of great friends. Shits still hard, but this can be a beautiful time if you put in the effort. Wish you the best.

My first alone place was horrible. Most of my kids didnt like it. Only one slept over religiously. That really messed me up, as did the solitude. I found a great woman. We moved around a bit and ultimately settled as a blended family right near the pathological X who escallated to CPS, cops and then sherriffs upmpteenth times. A VERY healthy sense of humor and superb ability irony, helped me stay happy and healthy. Hobbies and all that stuff as well as too many cats allowed me to get into a better shape mentally and physically than i ever was. I was totally blind with that lying X. She was a terrible wife. I can see now

Make sure you have a good napping couch. Do you know how to cook and clean? If not, an ok grill and paper plates will make it easier on yourself for the first few months, not to mention being awesome eats.

Mane, it might feel strange at first, but you’ll soon discover a peaceful sanctuary in your own space. Start taking care of yourself—learn to cook, pick up some hobbies, and keep the chaos outside. don’t let a woman move in unless you are super serious again to the point you are looking to remarry again etc and try avoid a women pillow talking you into moving in or have kids be smart and read between the lines and take as much time as you need it could be years just enjoy your peace it will get addicting tho but it helps set boundaries you never know you had and it also boost your self confidence, respect, finances and personality. It evolves you into a better version of yourself your ex wife may notice it and will try to get you back because you weren’t broken
