Despite what many women believe, judges arent stupid and assume that all men are abusers simply because they say so. Anyone can file a bogus police report, but if nothing came from it, then it really doesn't amount to much. There would have to be evidence to maintain the RO permanently......either previous physical evidence or ADMISSIONS FROM YOU IN COURT. I can't speak for your state, but in most states, there isn't cross-examinations by attorneys in RO cases. The parties present their evidence, and the judge will ask the questions.

My wife filed an equally bogus TRO against me at the start of our divorce. By the time we got to the court date, even her attorney was trying to convince her to drop it. She simply had no proof of the claims she made. To this day, however, she still talks about the restraining order she had on me as "proof" that she was a "victim" in our relationship.

False DV is right out of the women's divorce playbook. You need to get the DV case dismissed as soon as you can, as it will overshadow every aspect of your divorce until it is.

Let us know how it goes / works out. I am surprised my STBX hasn't dropped a DVRO on me, but we have no kids and I've already moved out. So maybe no point, but she's also vindictive and likes power / control.

Glad you're fighting it. Just tell the truth and/or what your lawyer tells you to say :D - surprisingly few of these bogus ones withstand full hearing, despite what this sub would have you believe.

Same here...been through all that shit. I'm out in the clear now, but fuck that fucking cunt bitch! So much happier after I filed for divorce. My lawyers were great!

My ex talked about doing similar stuff, she didn't follow through. She left, got raped and abused from a few guys, then several times would send texts/calls. Telling me what happened, and then that she'd lie and tell everyone that I'd done it. I've got 3 kids I'm the primary parent, Only reason she didn't. Was because she sent me the texts and calls when she was drunk, and I kept them all. So if she did go to the cops, I can point to it.

It is super nerve wracking. I feel for you. Try getting it dropped outside of courtroom if possible to negotiate something. That part I suppose is obvious.

Worse odds than Vegas in a courtroom and we all know there is almost always some gender bias. It basically comes down to how the judge feels about it. Hard to predict that. I strongly disagreed with some rulings. Not much I could do.

I'm reading this as a woman whose unhinged ex-husband just filed a DVRO against her. I filed for a modification of the custody order the week prior. We are three years post divorce and he continues to try to control every move I make when our daughter is with me - making her wear a GPS watch, sharing my location with him, inviting himself to join our time together. And you're probably reading this thinking why I allowed it to happen, but when someone has made you do everything they want since you were 17, you don't think you can stop listening to them. But I finally did. Filed for custody modification order and he responded the following week with a false DVRO claiming he's scared of me because I bunch my fists when I talk to him (he's a 3rd degree black belt in karate) and that I hurt our daughter by pushing her on one occasion last year (complete fabrication). Now I have a DVRO coming up and I'm spending money on a lawyer to defend myself against this nonsense. I guess I'm just scared and ranting. But hopefully the judge will see the truth.
