Now the judge has to sign. Overall, still got kinda fucked but it’s over. 15 months start to finish. Lawyers fees about 65k for me, 40k for her. 50/50 custody with me paying thousands in support per month (we both make a decent salary). Feel free to dm for details if needed.

What I learned from my own experience:

It’s not illegal to be a piece of shit. But don’t be a piece of shit.

If you’re locked into a temp agreement it will get dragged out as long as possible. I was all dressed up and shaved more than once to hear that opposing counsel has yet again requested adjournment. And they will get it.

The courts don’t care what she did or how she acts or acted. It’s about the money and the formulas for how much you have to pay. But you better have your shit together. I personally did nothing wrong. She did everything wrong. No matter, if they had anything on me I got the feeling I’d be paying a lot more.

All those recordings and threats are meaningless. Her boyfriend is meaningless. Unless there’s a danger to the kids, try to forget it because it will not help you.

Nobody wants you to go to trial. You think you do because she’s a bitch but that costs a lot of money and time and stress. If you can solidify custody at a minimum of 50/50, you are winning. I locked that up really early, the rest was just deflecting false accusations and dealing with her bullshit.

It’s cliché here but true. Focus. Maintain your composure. You will get through this. I did. Be better.
