I'm in the process of formal discovery because my STBX is difficult. We have 1 young child and since I make more than her I'll have to pay child support. During this timeframe a higher level job opened up at my company and I applied for and got it. 7% pay increase which isn't crazy but I'll take it.

Made me feel accomplished/proud once I got the offer, but that was immediately followed by frustration knowing that once my STBX finds out she'll probably demand everything be recalculated so I pay her more. Which only drags the process out more. I'm starting to empathize with the guys whose only regret in divorce is not doing it sooner. . .

Does that fear/anger/frustration of knowing she will try to take what you've worked hard for go away? How'd you get past it?
