I know at the end of the day its my decision, but just wondering what you would do. My wife and I are currently in the midst of divorce. When she asked for the divorce she wanted to let me know up front she was going to be "fair" and not "screw me". We sat down a few days ago to discuss assets. FYI we have had separate checking accounts our entire relationship. I have expressed tons of times through the years that I don't like that. I feel like when you get married you join as one, whats mine is yours and whats yours is mine. Also for reference, I made more money than my wife for about 75% of the marriage. My plan going is was just figure out who gets what and walk away. Well she decided she wants a majority of the assets, and that we will sell our home and split the profit from the sale.

Here's where everything fell apart per say or things changed. We have savings accounts setup for each of our children that we both pay into weekly. I told her I wanted those closed, split, and that I would reopen the same accounts for them with just my name so I can just continue to contribute and have something to give them when they turn 18. She blew up, told me I'm not fucking touching those and if they are to be closed, she put more in them so she is going to trace back every penny added. I found this to be extremely petty. Also, she has about 5 times the amount of cash in her account that I do. I let it go and then a few days later asked her if she was really going to stand by what she said and she said absolutely. Well, now I have decided if that's the way it is to be, we shall now put everything on the table and let the judge or lawyers decide how to divide all of the checking accounts. Would you pursue this, or just walk away?
