I myself have no kids of my own . I stupidly taken her and her kids in my house where they lived rent free for the entire time we were together not a single cent was paid to me for bills of any kind. I even bought food for dinner 2 or 3 nights while my so called wife was too lazy to cook. I was lucky to have 2 nights out of the week with a home cooked meal. Stopped having sex cause she had long term Covid that was her excuse anyways. Her and the kids constantly ran the dishwasher and washer and dryer everyday. I had to replace the water heater and both the washer and dryer cause of constant wear and tear. Why do u ask I did all of this ? Cause I loved her and even took her kids in as my own. I started unraveling when she provided nothing to the marriage. So I told her I don’t need her anymore and I didn’t because I practically took care of them on my own

In my case she, after our son was born, started to become increasingly aggressive, kicking me every time she thought it was my fault. Final straw? She told me to leave her parents’ house, which i did but that was the end for me.

no communication, affection , sex , she doesn't cook or clean or have sex. she's also obsessed with tik tok and goes into bed at 7pm. I'm hoping to get my kids 50/50 and would rather have that and be broke from child support and one income to pay for a household than live with someone I have grown to hate.

In my case, my youngest was 5, so I sure as hell had no intentions of waiting 13 years to "live my best life." She became a pill popper and all of the disasters that followed -- DUI's, bankruptcy, ER visits, pharmacies, 10 different doctors, etc.

The final straw was her "DUI with kids in the car." This DUI (yes, there were others), was the one where the kids were in the car. She got $7500 in DUI fines and jail time. As soon as she got out of jail I filed for divorce. She refused to work, so she was expecting me to work a second job to pay her DUI fines.

I got an excellent divorce outcome. Her? Not so much.

How old are you (approximately) and how old are the kids?

You don’t want to hang out in torture land for 15 years just for the kids sake. You will be setting a bad example for what a relationship should be.

For me it was the culmination of a million little things and a lot of big things and finally telling myself that I was going to be okay alone as a single father. (Basically waiting until my kids were old enough to defend themselves from a narcissist mother).

Well, she said that I needed to accept that she was a bisexual polyamorist now, who still wouldn't work, or we're done.

So, that made it easy to be done. It was her final gift.

no affection at all, the stair of death wile entering the home, walking on eggshells, and the excitement I would fill to leave to go to work.

It was more like “death by a thousand cuts” for me. I had brought it up a year prior, so I don’t think she was really surprised. I had been unhappy for years, and just came to the unavoidable realization that there’s no way I could live with the status quo for another 30-40 years.

If you want out now, playing house for the kids for 15+ years when you're miserable is going to give them a really warped view of what a "healthy" relationship is versus if you just cut your losses and bail when it isn't working.

15yrs is way too long and it’s not worth it. Your kids Will benefit from you having better energy. Protect your assetts and talk to a lawyer.
