I don't trust anybody who makes blanket statements. Learned that the hard way... (thanks redpill!)

How many years have we as a species spent trying to make sense of it all? What makes anybody think some stranger on the internet has it all figured out?

Life is life, it's completely subjective. Sure, shit like this seems to make it make sense until you actually walk a mile in another person's shoes, then you realize nobody has any idea what they're really doing in this crazy world. We're all just trying to get by the best we can.

At times I get celebrated for being a vulnerable codependant man, other times I'm shamed. It all depends on who and what you choose to give your time to.

First thought is - "you can just as easily say this about anyone....man, woman, child, pig, goat". Theres nothing specific to men about these points that make it a uniquely universal male experience.

This really tells us more about the author than what it's like to be a man in general.

I fear this might be coming from a point of narcissism. The author believes that just because he feels this way it must be true in general. But these things are (a) not that different between men and women, and (b) hugely up to life choices.

Nothing in here is new or original, nor is anything particularly harsh. Only a person struggling with their narcissism would find them surprising in my eyes. Yes, the world isn't waiting for you, doesn't owe you anything, and how you act towards others is basically everything.

And no one with their head screwed on straight will find you to be of value if at your core you're selfish.
