I feel bad for people with this perception. When you view relationships as an emotionless transaction of resources/valuables- it means you have no capacity to love, to be loved, to feel connection etc. It also hints at this core belief that you can never be loved for who you are, only for what you have to offer. Children who never felt wanted or loved in their homes and environment tend to compensate by becoming adults who at best can feel needed, but never wanted.

And it's actually a trait that people with NPD have- is this tendency to see relationships as transactions, and about what another person can provide. There is a lack of emotional connection and an ability to feel the deeper things, to value shared experiences with someone, to be supported and to give support, to share joy with another person, to have deep intimacy, to have someone you know you can rely on, share your wins with, celebrate their wins, see someone grow and heal...

Whenever I read things like this or listen to most red pill advice, I see these broken children who have hardened themselves to such an extent that they're incapable of genuine loving connection and emotional intimacy. Not just in romantic relationships, but in life and friendships. What a shallow meaningless existence to genuinely feel that all any person can provide to you is sex or money. And that in absence of providing sex or money, you gain nothing from knowing them...

How isolating and deadening. I hope people with this mindset seek therapy and heal.
