One thing I’ve noticed about men who spout the 50/50 rule is they always assume the default is rejection. They claim they go 50/50 because they don’t want to invest in a woman who is going to ghost them and waste their time. While I understand that fear, it comes from a place of inadequacy. Men who think like this know they are insufferable and nobody likes being around them, so instead of going to therapy or introspecting, they punish the people around them.

Could you imagine going through the hiring process and thinking like this with a company? “Well I’ve wasted my time on interviews in the past, so now I’m going to show up dressed casually and care less to win them over. I also won’t upgrade my resume to help me stick out from the crowd .” It doesn’t make sense to pursue something without pursuing it at all.

As we’ve all addressed, women statistically make men’s lives easier. They are the ones who seek us out because they lack solid, loving relationships with other men and can only find intimacy and care through romantic relationships with women. That’s why they expect us to be their therapists, sex slaves, maids, and more. We are an investment to them because we make their lives easier.

So would it be smart for an investor to put as little money into an investment and still expect all the benefits of being a majority shareholder? No. So why do these men think it’s okay to go 50/50 during the courting stage? Because they have nothing to invest with to begin with. Physically and metaphorically they are broke. They know this. Do not let a man convince you going 50/50 is okay. He is hoping you are insecure enough to not realize how much of an investment you are and still get all the benefits.

Edit: I also wanted to add that these men are also frustrated women aren’t putting out enough with this minimal investment. Don’t let a faux feminism man trick you into thinking it’s empowering. It’s not. He’s hoping you’ll be another notch on the end of his belt for the price of his own meals, coffee, or a walk.
