Hello I’ve lurked here for a while but not posted. I’m passed dating and lucky to be married to a good man. But I’ve had my share of idiots, and I have adult daughters who are at the dating stage of life, and my mind is blown - and not in a good way.

Anyway, I have one small red flag that a lot of people don’t consider - when you set a boundary or a preference, and he appears to be reassuring by saying it’s fine, it doesn’t bother him - it’s a sign that he only thinks about your discomfort in relation to himself.

“Please don’t walk into the bathroom when I’m changing” “I don’t want you to meet my family yet, they’re a bit much” “I’m uncomfortable with you staying over because reasons”

And his response is “you don’t have to worry about being uncomfortable, I’m not, relax, it doesn’t bother me”

...... he needs reminding that your discomfort isn’t about how he feels about it, it’s about how YOU feel about it. It’s the sign of a truly self centred person who can only ever imagine that only his feelings on the matter are important.
