I get so sick of the bullshit invalidation of women's feelings when it comes to porn. When a guy is addicted to porn, gets PIED, becomes abusive, starts to see women as nothing but objects to abuse for their precious peen, then they have the AUDACITY to make her the problem when she is hurt? Porn is literally getting sexual gratification from other women. Orgasming with other women. I don't understand how that ISN'T cheating in the context of a monogamous relationship, with agreed sexual monogamy.

Plus, where's the line exactly? If porn is okay is it okay if it features someone you know? Is it okay to ask for nudes? Interact with them? Sext friends? Use cam girls? Fuck a prostitute? (they don't see them a human, after all)?

I developed an ED when in a relation with a porn addict, mainly due to the stress of the constant lies, 180s, backtracking and drip-feeding of truth. I don't wish that experience on anyone. For anyone feeling insecure about their partner's porn use, please remember he would still watch porn if he were dating his favourite porn actress. It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with his pathetic lack of self-control, entitlement to womens' bodies, and ego. Also please dump him - he will never change.

She’s awesome! Porn is cheating. Period. Thank God I found this sub and decided to actually look into porn use and it’s effects on the brain/relationships.

I used to watch porn because I thought it was just that - a fantasy that I could get off to. Then it became so that I couldn’t orgasm without porn (well, maybe it was also the LVMs I was dating). Yet, I was always uncomfortable with my ex-partners’ porn usage and for some, even watching it with them.

I tried to be the cool girl and bought into all their BS excuses that “it’s normal” or “what’s the big deal, all guys watch it!” or “stop being so insecure, it’s not real!” Plus all the pickmes around me defending it: “Omg chill, It’s not like he’s ACTUALLY having sex with the actress!” Well yeah, if he could, he would cheat on you with his fav porn actress in a heartbeat. And he’s imagining those actresses when he’s sleeping with you. I had a NVM porn addict ex who never looked at me when we had sex, but he couldn’t keep his eyes off porn videos.

FFS, they’re getting off and orgasming to other women. Is that not the definition of cheating? If you were constantly watching videos of naked, beautiful, built men with big d*cks and getting off to them, they would throw a fit.

I stopped watching porn when I found this sub and realized it’s effects and how horrible the industry is. My current boyfriend admitted to occasional porn use but stopped when I told him straight up I consider it cheating and that many of the women in it are underaged/trafficked and are there against their will, or tricked. He knows I will dump him on the spot if I ever catch him watching it.

...I feel very strongly about this, lol.

There's a lot wrong with the porn industry but I don't think it's useful to take such a self-centered approach when criticizing it. "It makes me feel ugly" sounds/is petty compared to "the porn industry is fueled by broken, vulnerable women who are used and thrown away by men."
