Idk if its just me, but in my profile I clearly put i'm looking for a relationship, there is nothing that even indicates I am looking for otherwise. Yet half the time when I go on dates the guy asks me what I am looking for (and hints he would be ok with short term if I am). I went on a date either where the guy was being super annoying and PUA-y (long story) and trying to "read me" so I played along and asked him what his read on me was and he said "well since you are in healthcare and move around a lot i'm assuming you are looking for something short term" and literally I looked at him and was thinking WTF no. What on earth gave you that impression are you stupid?

Its not like i'm on tinder meeting up right away lol i'm meeting these guys on hinge a relationship app after weeks of texting. When I told him "uh no I am busy enough as it is, I am happy as is an I literally have zero energy and time for an unfulfilling meaningless short term relationship what even makes you think that. I want the real deal otherwise its a waste of time" he like could not comprehend it. What would I even get out of a short term relationship??? I am PERFECTLY happy alone LOL like the only reason I even care to date is to find a life partner to have kids and a home with otherwise i'd rather spend my free time on my friends and family. Why can these guys not comprehend that?

Am I the only one who thinks this way? The only time I can see short term being a thing is if you meet someone you like IRL, are friends 1st and genuinely have fun together but intend to date long term and it just doesn't work out due to compatibility issues. Like that makes sense you already have an established connection. I even get hookups like its not my thing but some people don't have time to date but want to hook up. But what I don't get is putting in time and effort going on dating apps specifically looking for something short term with a stranger that makes zero sense to me.
