I don't have a nurturing bone in my body, for real. It sucks because I feel like a lot of guys out there are looking for a girl to mother them.

Even my mom was like "yeah you probably shouldn't have kids."

I probably won't have kids unless I meet the right person who I KNOW will contribute his share to childrearing. There ain't no way in hell I'm doing it all by myself.

I chose the "never want children" options in the daring apps I'm on.

If I feel a connection with someone I usually bring it up in conversation online, many men are taken aback by how stubborn I am on this issue.

I usually get insults like "Why do you hate kids?"

Which I turn around on them and ask "Why do you hate the environment?" And explain how having a child is the #1 way humans speed up climate change.

Of course I don't judge anyone who has children, I merely say this to sass moids before I block.

I think letting people know I'm childfree early on can separate the moids from the men, that's just my opinion.

It might be too assertive to put family plans in a dating profile but I’d say bring it up after a few dates for sure. I know of relationships that have ended over the two disagreeing on whether they want to have kids! It’s a big deal. You could probably approach it light-heartedly, and in my experience guys aren’t thrown off by the topic.

Also, the poster is really young. I didn’t have my kids until my 30s. I wouldn’t even be thinking about kids at that age. 21, 22? Don’t even think about settling down at that age. Just get kids and marriage off your mind for at LEAST the next 5 years. Put the focus on discovering who you are. Travel, learn, have fun. Just get moids off your brain and don’t think about kids, or dating even. Just go be young, have fun, get hurt, have fun again, grow, take adventures, get hurt again, love again, love every minute of your existence. And if you have no kids, or one kid, or whatever you choose, it’s all good.

I am 26 and do not plan to have children. I have always said it, and I have no inkling of it changing.

I left a man a few years ago (oh young love) because he wanted kids, I didn’t. I knew that 25 years down the line he’d hate me for not giving him what he wanted. He said he could not have them for me, yet always joked about them because he thought I’d change my mind...

I’m childfree and I don’t think it affects my dating life. Then again I’m just 21, but I am completely childfree, this is not some stupid phase.

I do not think it has effected my dating life at all. And I'm fairly open about not wanting kids very early on. For all of my life I've never wanted my own kids but I am coming around to maybe adopting in the future though - the world is fucked I don't want to bring anything new into it. I'm in my late 20's..

Yes. I don't know if a single man (except my father) who takes his equal share of the child rearing and home life. I would never sacrifice my life and freedom to keep house and raise kids for a man.

It's kind of a big deal if you're looking for a long term relationship, so as long as you're up-front about it they cannot say you didn't warn them.

Me! Yes, I'm 25. I'm having trouble finding someone who's CF and not a loser. (The city I call home is a strange brew of losers and successful people). I had a lot easier time when I was younger and nobody was in a real serious relationship.

That’s kind of a loaded term, don’t you think? Knowing there are mothers here, it just feels a little disrespectful. There are forums for you to talk about that, this isn’t the one. Us mothers catch enough flack from Reddit moids, the last thing we need is other women needing to feel validated for not having or wanting kids. That’s not what this sub is about.
