DAE Hate when guys over compliment you.

I was messaging this guy and he over compliments me a lot. I’m not attracted to him so maybe that’s a reason why.

For example. We were talking about sleep and disorders and how it affects your skin. And he says “Well you must get a lot of sleep, because your skin looks great.” And all I kept thinking to myself was “Yeah okay, bud. You’ve only seen me with makeup on last time we were around eachother”

And then one time he sent me a picture of something and when I responded in the morning he said “I hope you got that beauty sleep”.

It just makes me cringe. It’s creepy actually. So, I kind of stopped messaging him after that, because the comments just didn’t sit right with me. They aren’t malicious obviously, but it weirds me out and I can’t put my finger on the feeling except “cringe” and makes me stomach go “yuck”.

I might feel a little less cringe if he was really cute, so that may be why. But I’m not so certain. It comes off desperate and simply not normal. Kind of immature, even. I can’t describe it.
