Ehhh agree on almost everything.

I found mine online but was only talking to 1/100 men who messaged me, and if they didn't want to meet me immediately and gauge interest on a real date I unmatched and blocked. It was extremely useful.

And that’s on that on that! More women joining apps during this pandemic felt like a blessing for all these damn losers. Now I’ve been hearing these apps are losing a shit ton of users (women) and that makes me so happy. Just look at the reviews on App Store or Google Play..... women are fed tf up. Why wouldn’t they be?

Old had its place for me when I was in college. I was super shy and men never hit on me. So my first dating app experience was okcupid in 2013. I met three men off there, only one became a relationship, one I just ended after 5 years on and off. I had a period of singledom last year and went on okc for the first time in 5 years. It changed a lot. And I’ve read it changed even more to where you have to pay for it? Yea I’m not about to do that. I used it last year to waste time, most men were super boring to talk to. I’m racially ambiguous and tan and I felt like I got messages from the bottom feeders of the internet. I want to meet someone organically without the crutch of old. I think someone you meet irl is more likely to try and woo you through actions to get your attention because they’re not relying on a dating app or technology to communicate.

OLD is trash but for those of us in female dominated professions there’s really not much else in terms of options to meet men. But I still gave up on it 💆🏽‍♀️

3,6,8 stand out to me. Good men aren't on apps, and those that are, are gone fast. All the men I know who are dateable and taken, did not meet their partners on apps. So why am I on them?

It's about sex. Even those who want a relationship, really mean regularly scheduled sex. Male friends have confirmed their primary filter is finding girls who are dtf.

Idk what these men think they can get, but looking at the effort they put in? They're all waiting for their insta model with a passion for pre industrial chauvinism.

I agree with everything on here. OLD doesn’t make things easier. In fact, it exposes you to choices you’d never have access to (nor want access to) in real life. It forces you to be superficial and judge people in ways that you probably wouldn’t meeting them organically.

I’m not doing OLD right now because we’re in a global pandemic and dating just isn’t going to be fun so I don’t see a point (I love getting glammed up and being treated to fancy dinners). Once things open up I’m just gonna keep my fingers crossed that I meet someone doing the things I love in person.

Fortunately I’ve always been approached irl, but I waited instead of going to old after hearing what the men say about it. They treat them as free brothels and try their lv bs on many women until one bites without repercussion. I’m my college days, if a dude acted out of line sending me anything rude or lewd I would def let my peers know. It was a good way to shame them to stop that bs. But with apps, there are no ways to no that so they keep trying hence why women see all these stupid ass conversation starters.

I agreed about removing it from the handbook but since I’ve never tried OLD, I didn’t want to be THAT person.

Completely agree. I guess it's up to the individual to determine how much trash they want to sift through for the remote possibility of finding what....a $50 bill? For me it has long stopped being worth the energy and time.

I feel like dating apps are for men who aren't willing to put any energy into finding and pursuing a partner. Because on dating apps you only have to do a bare minimum & take her out on walking or coffee dates. And there will always be pickmeishas who will love that shit

Its difficult for me otherwise because I work in a job where everyone is moving around all the time. I've met men at work, I dated a man I'd call a HVM for a while who was solid(adore him, we're still friends because our breakup was very pleasant and respectable) but he of course got a job on the other side of the country and neither of us could give up those opportunities. Youd have to give up your career to stop moving in my job. So I dont know where else, my hobbies aren't exactly rolling in males.

Ive never used online dating except as a joke a few years ago. You can meet those types of people in real life and they would hide it too also so I dont really know.
