A guy asked me to meet at a wine bar that I know is in his neighborhood based on the location listed in his Hinge profile. His neighborhood is not considered to be a central location in the city (small city, but still).

How do you all respond when a guy suggests a location that isn’t convenient for you? What do you say to push back, or do you consider thjs evidence of a LVM and drop him immediately?

Here is what I said: “Hi (insert name)! 8:30 works for me. It looks like that bar is on the outskirts of the city. Happy to meet if there’s a bar in a more central location that you have in mind/want to try”

Then he suggested another bar that’s more convenient. Not sure if there’s a better approach though and curious what you all do.

(Note: I’m well aware that FDS doesn’t endorse drink dates. I subscribe to 95% of FDS philosophy and strategy but for a number of reasons, personally prefer going out for 1-2 drinks on the first date and doing dinner/something nicer on the second date if there’s a potential fit. I’m specifically asking about what you’d say if the location isn’t to your liking, not any other aspect.)
