This was my strategy for handling breakups, even really young. I knew it was fruitless to allow them to keep in contact with me and it would only hurt me more. Even when you block, some make new accounts to contact you, and you have to be strong. I admit I stooped to their level a couple times and it ended up making me feel worse because I got emotional and nasty. I felt best when I just blocked new messages until they well and truly moved on. Doesn't work with a stalker but works with LVM's that try the "so how've you been" bs trying to keep you as an option in their heads

Yep. Stop all contact. Don't respond if they send you messages "apologizing." They are just trying to engage you any way they can, to keep you hooked. It's all about their ego, not your feelings.

I did this with my most recent fuckboy (blocked him too) and 2 days later ran into him at the gym. Today I walked past him on the street. The perils of dating people who live in your area!

Any tips for how to deal with bumping into a LVM you've removed from your life? Chances are I'll run into him again and I don't want to feel anxious about going to the gym as working out is what I normally do to get rid of my anxiety!

Maybe don't delete the conversations in case there was abuse: you could use it as pieces of evidence for legal purpose or even for yourself to realise the severity of abuse despite the gaslighting

Done that finally but sadly I still have to see him every day because we work together. That's why it took me some time to delete him from my socials because I thought it wouldn't change much. But actually it helped alot in moving on. He wasted some of my time through, only positive is that I stopped being Pick-me - my first and last time doing that to myself.
