Two possible outcomes:

He can't cook and needs someone to do it for him.

He works in foodservice and doesn't want to cook at home after doing it for a living.

First option is more common in general, but I've met my share of the second. Either way, the result is the same.

Either both cook or nobody cooks. Period.

If you want to say that in a decent way, "Oh really? That's interesting. I'd love to learn more about cooking from you and to always cook together with my s/o is something I've always wanted so I'm glad to hear that"

There is so much baggage around men’s expectation that women cook that I see this and think it’s a red flag. Like all the “busted thots can’t even cook” online. It makes me a bit sad because I actually love cooking and I am the cook in my marriage but it’s not like it’s expected of me because I’m the woman. It’s a fun skill and shouldn’t be tied to Acceptable Femininity.

I enjoy cooking for myself but I never bring it up on dates because there’s too many idiots who can’t cook and are looking for mommy.

I also like when someone is a good cook and likes to cook. I don’t think this is a big deal. (Also, this is why I think OLD sucks - it’s simply impossible to understand a person based on a curated online profile.)

I have no problem cooking/cleaning in a relationship as long as I get rewarded in another way. I cook for my boyfriend and take care of the household and in return he regularly takes me out on exciting dates and buys gifts/takes care financially. No free labor from me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah I think it's questionable because I love dating a good cook too, but I wouldn't put it on a profile unless I also added that I like to cook myself so that it would be a shared interest.
