Insults are not "jokes."

Name calling is not a joke.

Bringing up personal issues to hurt someone is not funny.

Being an ill-tempered "honest" asshole is not funny.

Demeaning and degrading people(women) does not make you a comedian.

If more men realized this and stopped, they wouldn't have to worry about "women not having a sense of humor." Its not that we don't have a sense of humor, you're just not funny, you never were.

This is dudes who end every text sentence with lol. So they never have to take responsibility for their words and can always claim they were “just kidding geez.”

I've been in a relationship with a guy who "joked" about my hair, my clothes, my voice, the way I ate, how I laughed, etc.

And while he claimed it wasn't intended to be malicious or nasty (and had the audacity when I said I wanted him to stop to say it was a sign of affection), but when someone you love makes fun of the way you look for the 2nd, 5th, 50th time in a row, it wears you down and starts chipping away at your self-esteem because of course it does.

It would have done the same to him if I'd "joked" about him losing his hair, so not sure why so many men think it's okay to needle away at their partner and then get surprised that they're hurt by it...

Idk dude I personally hate the idea of having to “take” someone else’s sense of humor in this way. Like what about making jokes that aren’t degrading or that couldn’t be misconstrued as disrespect? Is it that hard?

The interesting thing is that most of the men who make these ‘jokes’, will go beserk if another dude treats them the same way. All of a sudden it’s ‘disrespect’ and they’re ready to fight.

They know exactly what they’re doing.
