Tales of male rationality have been grossly inflated.

I don’t know how after seeing murder after mass murder committed by men who were mad because they weren’t getting their pee pees wet often enough, people can continue believing men are the more rational creatures. Like, just how???

We need a word for male logic, like testerical, or mansplain. Anyone? I've been trying and can't get there.

LOOOL this sounds like a good question for FDS chat

Men are per se irrational because they follow their dick to their doom all the time.

"My argument is that it is men are driven completely by their own pathetically rudimentary range of feelings, while women need to run their own, patriarchally distorted emotions through reason to uncover their intellectual power once more."

I feel like this paragraph perfectly sums up what we are trying to do here at FDS. Give women the tools, insight and self-confidence to run their feelings through a checklist of reason before acting. Without reason, we just have a lot of Pickmeisha's running over to some guy's filthy apartment to blow him while he plays video games because "he's nice and sweet."

Also - everytime someone says men are rational and women are emotional, I'm like OK, so I guess we don't consider anger & shame emotions anymore? 🙄

All the women I know think before they act and weigh up the consequences. Most men I know act without thinking and drown any emotions they have in weed and alcohol. Women live longer because they don't take immature risks and are logical.

Just google "Why Womens lives longer than mens"

[–]SaitschikFDS Disciple 23 points24 points25 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

True. Women are much more rational and strategic in their decision making on average . Men are guided by their dick, impulsiveness and their emotions, which they often only vaguely understand.

[–]TheHistoryMachineFDS Apprentice 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And those emotions are usually anger or lust.

This is from my favourite blog. The author is a gender critical lesbian, so not everything she says would work for every person. But I find she writes well, she is thoughtful, and her works have gotten helped me work through a lot of the things I dislike about being female and the way I was brought up.

Not sure if this fits here. Feel free to remove if this is not appropriate reading for this sub.

I really appreciate you posting it. I agree that not everything she says would work for every person (I read her post very carefully, twice, and so I think I've taken in everything she said), but that's okay. She's asking us to be thinkers, and so it would be against the most important thing she advised if we didn't think and instead just agreed to follow every little thing she says. But she makes some goddamn good points and she backs the big points up. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Men are definitely more emotional, but they have muted most except for anger and apathy so they seem more rational, but clearly they are not

[–]TheHistoryMachineFDS Apprentice 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When men stop murdering people when they get turned down by a woman, cut off in traffic, or laid off, THEN I'll regard them as rational. Until then? Nope.

[–]dackarooRuthless Strategist 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yep. You can't think rationally if you don't understand your own emotions.

[–]TheHistoryMachineFDS Apprentice 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More people need to understand this.

[–]ScotsburdFDS Disciple 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men suppress their emotions until all that's left is a ball of fear and anger looking for a place to explode. Women express their emotions, talk about their issues and seek help when life becomes hard. And we are the weaker sex? Just no.

[–]Ms_TillyRuthless Strategist 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women may be more emotional at times, but that doesn't make us emotional thinkers. We really think things through, sometimes way too much. Most men I know are way more negatively emotional than I have ever been. They sulk, they brood, they fly off the handle. I might feel the need to cry a bit when things get tough or I hear something sad, but that is so much healthier than punching or throwing something.
