Most men go for women that wear makeup. They also expect women to have hairless bodies, have long hair, wear "feminine" clothes etc.

Grooming/personal care products usually cost wayyy more for women. I know many women who spend more than 200 euros per month on their appearance. Most men don't spend anywhere near that on their appearance. Clothes for women also often cost more than clothes for men.

If you took time to take care of your appearance, while your man came to the date wearing the same shirt he has been wearing for MONTHS, then it's only fair to expect him to at least pay for the date. Men have all sort of unrealistic expectations about how women "should" look yet they still don't want to do the bare minimum and pay for a drink? If that is how a relationship starts then it will only get worse with the women offering more than she gains.

Now if you're with a man who genuinely doesn't care about how you look, then it's more complicated. In that case, I could see why it would be acceptable to split the bill. However, I would argue that it's still better to let the man pay. It's a good way to see if the man is serious or not.
