There’s no such thing as a yellow flag, it’s either a misunderstanding that can be resolved with a quick conversation, or it’s a red flag in disguise. Don’t wait around for the second one.

this whole thing reminded me of when my ex drove past a reservation that I wanted to visit on our vacation. I remember planning for it. We went horse riding. He seemed to hate it. Made some lewd comments on women and horses. I was still shaken that the previous night, in the restaurant, he began attacking me and berating me and putting words in my mouth. In a fucking restaurant. Like... who TF does that? Abusive men do!

And I remember I innocently asked him: how long do you think we have? It should be somewhere near here. I looked at the map on my phone and he just drove faster and did not even reply to me. He thought that horse riding was a stupid activity. Of course he would berate me for wanting to look at baby elks and bisons.

As he kept driving, I let it sink in: I was not as important as he claimed I was.

that was a red flag, burning very bright. who TF does that? again, abusive men.
