A HVM will have the ability to think ahead and consider your comfort on a date and in a relationship. He'll perform an awkward or uncomfortable task or errand and make sure you're comfortable during that time.

LVM don't care. If you're out of sight they think of themselves. They can't plan concurrently. They don't consider your comfort and some want to punish you too if they're uncomfortable. They make a fuss to keep you in proximity, need your help, or crash and bang to let you know they're bravely doing awkward task. LVM have no sense of time or how long things take, and a callous disregard for other people's time or anxiety over being late. Their time and comfort is more important than yours. They're ok making you wait. They're the type to make half-assed plans to try to block out your Saturday night to make sure no-one else gets you, then they flake.

LVM feel it is a LOSS for them if you're happy and comfortable while they're mildly inconvenienced. HVM realise that women want to spend more time with them. HVM enjoy seeing you happy.

The classic time-mismanagement is 'playing games or watching youtube while you get ready', then he dicks around doing whatever thing and makes you late to your dinner reservations.

Task: Broken sink. Comfort: you say you want a bubble bath.

A HVM would fix the kitchen sink while you take a bubble bath. An LVM 'needs' you to pass him tools, then uses up all the hot water showering after his heroic task.

My high-school boyfriend took me on a date to a decent pastry shop and we walked his dog. He fussed while tying up his dog and setting out a little water bowl. He thought ahead for his dog's comfort at least. We went inside and as I hadn't been there before I looked at the huge menu. He rattled off his order, paid for himself, and went back out to his dog. I ordered, paid for mine and went out to sit. He (conveniently) was bent over cooing to his dog while our order was called so I brought the whole tray out.

Task: sort out the dog. Comfort: I needed more time to read the menu.

A HVM would have suggested I go inside and look at the menu while he tied up the dog, then joined me, asked what I wanted, relayed the order and paid for both. Then brought out the tray.

A nightmarish LVM did approximately 97 laps of a parking lot trying to find the perfect spot. We ended up parking miles away and I got to walk in heels to get to the movie theatre.

A HVM would have dropped me off at the entrance so I could go into the aircon while he parked the car and walked, and done the same at the end to pick me up.

A couple of dates have taken care of the bill while I was in the bathroom. LVM will use your comfort time as their jerk-off time and fiddle with their phone, then when you get back you get to stand in line with him to pay the bill. They need to be seen paying I guess. Or they think standing in line is tedious, so you can be uncomfortable too. They hate you, ditch them.

Men who duck off to find one more thing while you're in the supermarket queue are assholes too. No sense of solidarity. This is the type of guy who will play xbox while you're giving birth. “Why should I suffer or support her? She's doing the shitty task, sucker.” The type to use his points so he can fly first class while you're in economy. "Fuck you, got mine". Men who can't manage time and are inconsiderate are the type who will thoughtlessly let you and your children burn on a hot day or freeze when it snows. He'll let you and your toddlers boil with broken AC while he goes to the pub.

  • Does he consider your comfort?

  • Can he plan concurrently?

  • Does he suggest you do x thing while he does y thing?

  • Does he take the burden of the awkward task?

  • Does he make you share the suffering?

  • Does he make you do the whole task?

  • Does he drag ass until you cave and do the task?

  • Does he support you while you're stuck doing an awkward task?

(Don't come at me for how obvious this one might seem. I'm going to break a lot of things right down for our autistic sisters)

Tiny little things at the start turn into the thing you dump him over. Or you cry over as his twitter meme goes viral.
