I (21F) went on two back to back dates with this guy (29M) last week and they were absolutely amazing! First date we had a great dinner and drinks at this nice restaurant then went to a bar and played darts and pool. I personally wasn’t expecting to have this much chemistry with him at all. Towards the end of the date he says we should hang out again the next day, I told him I’d let him know. The next morning he texts me and I end up going on another date this time we get brunch and play bowling and skee ball at this really nice place, then we go and watch this indie movie at a small theater because we both had that interest in common. We hang out a bit after the movie then head home. For both of these dates he paid fully, I did the whole pretend to reach for wallet thing but he responded with “with you’re with me you’ll never had to worry about that”. We held hands, shared Eskimo kisses and even made out towards the end of our second date.

This past week our texts have been a little wish washy and I called him out on it and he literally asked me when I was free to call me and apologize over the phone (which was really nice). Anyway, Thursday we plan our third date to the board game place which would’ve been really fun for Saturday night (today). I didn’t hear from him all day today so I decided to text him first to confirm if we were still meeting about 3 hours ago, and his reply was “Hey im so sorry. I am not going to be able to make it tonight :/“. My friends said not to reply which I haven’t. But I need a bit of advice: 1. Should I just take this as a lost cause and move on even though we had two amazing dates? 2. Should I reply to him or just wait for him to (hopefully) reschedule? 3. And overall, being a college student I though dating older guys would prevent this whole “cancel last minute sort of thing” is that the case based off of experience?

I’m fairly new to the dating scene and being a senior I’m college it’s tough because I feel like everyone in my generation is on the whole fwb thing. Which I like on occasion, but trying to find a guy who wants an actual relationship tough, my friends keep telling me to lower my standards so I could finally get a boyfriend but I’m too stubborn to do that. I’m also a virgin which tends to drive guys away a lot of the times. I’m fairly good looking, tall, although I could dress a bit better. Anyway, general advice is also appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Tldr: I’ve have two wonderful dates with a guy and he just cancelled on one that we were suppose to have tonight. What happens next?
