When did this subreddit start? And how?

The sub was created by u/rainisthelife in Feb 2019 with I believe some other women from r/PurplePillDebate and r/PinkpillFeminism, then abandoned. As far as I know, this has never been a femcel sub.

Then u/AverageToHot and myself u/TheOGJammies discovered the sub around the same time, and liked the overall concept and started posting, but it was completely overrun with scrotes who would brigade and down vote everything and shit post all day, so we asked u/rainisthelife to be mods so we could clean it up.

We took it over in September 2019, rewrote the rules, created a general outline of the FDS Ideaology, and wrote a bunch of new posts. I redesigned the layout and programmed all the automod features, redid all the post flairs and user flairs to keep the male brigaders out and make it more accessible.

"Pick Me" and it's derivative "Pickmeisha" was a popular phrase used among black women that I transplanted over here (I'm black, obviously).

I was active on r/gendercritical and started sharing a lot of articles from GenCrit to this sub, so a lot of the early members were GenCrit transplants from me. (and PPD, PPF, and The fairer sex transplants from u/rainisthelife and u/greenteaapplepie69)

u/AveragetoHot 's "How Never to Pay on A Date" post went viral on reddit, and the scrotes started angrily reposting FDS content everywhere to encourage brigading, which drew massive amounts of attention to the sub in a short amount of time. We got picked up by news media and the rest is history.

Yes, I too am interested in the origins of this sub.

Like you, OP, I am a fan of Shera 7.

Love her! When I first started watching her I was *bambi eyed* "oh no she is so mean to men!", then like 30 seconds late "Damn, this girl is fierce - I want her energy!". Everything Shera7 says is on point.

And yeah - she totally coined PickMeisha lol.

It's a shame 'dusty' hasn't sneaked into FDS vernacular. A dusty is an LVM.

I wanna say this sub has the best moderation. I can't imagine how many scrotes come screeching in the comments here and yet I pretty much never see evidence of them.

I don't know, just wanted to share my first experiences with it: I found the sub as GC's sister sub but I came across the mindset first by Asha C. Connected the two in my mind, but these were two separate occasions.

I've heard the term "Pick Me" going back a couple years on another forum. Tbh, I didn't get it at first. I interpreted it as judgmental and combative towards women.

I discovered Shera recently but apparently she uses the term "Pick Me" going back a few years. If there are similar youtubers, I'd love some recommendations.
