I like your post. Women need to be made aware that when they ask questions on the other relationship subs and teen girl subs etc., they're almost entirely getting advice from men who are usually MRA misogynist abusers. One of the things that really surprised me most when I started moderating FDS almost two years ago was that almost every single misogynistic MRA asshole to keep me who came here to scream at us was also subbed to all of the dating advice and relationship subs. I would go through their histories and find their manipulative psychobabble of all of the most vulnerable, abused and confused women.

These men have a goal and they are all acting on it independently.

This is so apparent on the supposedly “neutral” subs where every post is “Men get blamed for this problem but it’s actually women’s fault.”

One comment I wanted to make was calling women "females" instead of women. While I'm not trying to tone police, a lot of men do that to dehumanize women (notice you don't call them "males"). That just bothered me a bit so I thought I'd share. Female could be any species and I think it's important to keep the language used the same

I honestly wish part of everyone's flair was their age and gender identity but men would circumnavigate that in a heartbeat. I just hate reading some stupid reply and knowing it came from a 35 year old man who's never dated a girl longer than 2 weeks, or some teen.

The first principle of critically evaluating information is knowing the source and controlling for bias. On reddit, this means valuing male opinions less.

I commented the following in the weekly thread, but I'm copying and pasting it here because it's relevant to your post:

Was in another sub and saw a post from someone (presumably a woman) who went on a date. The man stole the chopsticks from the table as a “gift” for OP (she collects them) even though they’re available for purchase through the restaurant. OP says she told him she was uncomfortable but he said he thinks the gesture is “romantic”.

The FDS response of “yes, theft is a dealbreaker, plus he doesn’t care that you’re upset about it” is getting DOWNVOTED and the pickme saying “just communicate, stealing is totally fine, everyone does it lol” has more upvotes. She already cOmMuNiCaTeD and he said he doesn’t care. Why does she have to teach a grown man that stealing is unacceptable?? Have fun receiving a burgled engagement ring >5 years from now!!

Edit to add: everyone is clambering to defend this guy saying “oh he must be young, he doesn’t know any better so cut him a break, he must think this is cute as a teen gift” and guess what ladies, he’s TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS OLD and has a “well-paying job”. Why is everyone so adamant about defending a man they don’t know?? Why are they insisting that OP give him another chance when they’ve been dating for “a very short time” and they barely know each other? What’s so wrong about telling her to dump someone who is literally a thief, and why are the pickmes in there condoning theft and calling [normal, pro-social] people who speak out against it the “morality police”??? You know who’s against theft?? The real-life police, because it is literally a crime. When was I transported to clown world?????

For real. I don’t bother posting in other subs. I once asked an HR question about a problematic ex employee still showing up to the job only got comments saying that I’m stupid, whiney, and that I’m the ones who’s a problem with no reason why or any advice on how to fix anything. Obviously male commenters, women just don’t do shit like that. I ended up asking my female therapist about it and she had way more constructive and helpful things to say without being insulting

I have found a few advice and support subs where I do believe it's mostly women commenting and responding. Mostly these are parenting subs, or subs devoted to certain interests or hobbies. Men still do pop up there and are fawned over ofc, but can mostly be ignored. The mainstream relationship and dating subs are 100% waste of time. And anything (other than FDS) that has "women," "feminists," "lesbians," or "Xchromosome" in the sub name is really poisonous because that's where you get the men purposely masquerading as women.
