Some dudes are so into these rigid gender roles but can’t even uphold the traditional male responsibilities. Like no clue how to change the oil in their car or fix a faucet or even how to start a gas lawnmower. And yet still expect the woman to cook and clean for them.

Being able to cook, clean, do your taxes etc. are basic life skills for any adult and not being able to virtually makes you low value by default - man or woman.

Most men will tell you they absolutely, positively, 100% can... And then will tell you that the most basic shelf hanging is too hard/not worth it and you should just do it

Or will do it but because ego won't actually look it up and now you won't get your deposit back because the wall is Swiss cheese and the shelf is only half attached and crooked

Pretty easy to feed yourself and your family tasty healthy food without much cooking nowadays. I mean just saying. Most people should know maybe a dozen dishes that give a sort of base to work from just in case life takes a turn where cooking each meal every meal becomes a financial necessity. We can use YouTube, we can follow instructions, we'll cross the how to make pavlova bridge if we want to or when we have to.

And let's face it lvm don't even know a dozen dishes.

I like to cook and I'm really good at it, baking too. I used to cook for men. They don't appreciate it, take it as a given, and almost never reciprocated by doing something thoughtful for me. Now I save all the deliciousness for myself and my girlfriends.

My guy makes phenomenal spaghetti sauce from scratch. His mom taught him. She used to day "any man who can cook, will have no trouble finding a woman who will want to."
Also, hes currently making me a vanity table because he heard me saying I've always wanted one
