Interesting video there, because I had a simailr-ish experience to that dude in middle school, and there are always similar videos you can find. It doesn’t seem all that uncommon for stuff like that to happen to dudes when they have a female bully or harasser, and the victim is punished for retaliating. Bascally people will watch you get harassed, but won’t do anything until you retaliate.

Sadly teachers and other kids in school and in adult situations outside of school, tend to pick sides for whatever person they prefer, including women/girls bullying and assaulting men/boys, where they’ll watch the dude get harassed by a woman, but the surrounding folk will only jump in if the woman abuser is facing retaliation. At worst situations like these are outright just assisted violence, they are beating or intimidating a man after he defended himself, on the behalf of his female abuser.

At best it’s purposeful enabling of abuse, which you can argue IS violence anyways. I’d say that’s the time where “silence is violence” is true, because you are activity aware of the woman abusing the male, and you activity only choose to do something IF the victim physically defends himself against her.

I wish I could find this one exact video, this one where a woman comes up to a man, stabs him in the back, the man gets up, yet the moment he retaliates, numerous of random nearby guys come in to restrain him, even though he’s the victim that was stabbed in the back.

Result willl give me two things: Either numerois news and videos about a woman being stabbed by a man, or will give me numerous news and vidoes about a man getting stabbed by a woman, yes, but it’s not the one I’m referring to.

I think this is an example of a larger issue where a problem that women experience specifically in the context of sex is magnified and treated as a generalized inequity when men are disproportionately disadvantaged by the issue in virtually every other context.

Yes, there has traditionally been a problem with people dismissing sexual harassment and assault of women with a "boys will be boys" attitude, and that is a problem that should be addressed. But in essentially every other context women are held less responsible for their actions than men are. They receive lighter criminal sentences across the board, they are let off with warnings far more often, their violence is not taken seriously or considered abuse, they are far more often to escape negative situations by flirting or crying, and people are far more often to offer them help when they make bad decisions and wind up in difficult situations. And even in the context of sexual harassment and assault, women are much less likely to be held accountable, with many people even regarding the male victim as "lucky" to have been victimized.

The same thing applies with victim blaming. Yes, there has traditionally been a big problem with female victims of rape and sexual assault being blamed for what happened to them, with people commenting about what they were wearing, how much they drank, who they were associating with, etc. But in virtually every other contexts men far more often blamed for bad things that happen to or are done to them. If a man is poor or homeless, many people will say it is because he's lazy, lacks work ethic, is on drugs, etc. If he is robbed, many will say its because he wasn't paying attention, was flashing around money or valuables, was in a neighborhood he shouldn't have ventured into, etc. If a man gets dumped by a woman, many will say its because he wasn't providing for her, wasn't man enough, didn't work on himself enough, and so forth. In essentially everything besides sex, men are generally considered to have full agency and to be able to control their environment and what happens to them, while women are generally viewed as passive non-actors at the whim of circumstances and who are acted upon by others and are rarely if ever responsible for misfortune that befalls them.

The same thing applies with danger in public places. Yes, women are disproportionately likely to experience violent sexual assault or rape by a stranger (though it is less common than many portray it to be, and in reality the great majority of such incidents happen between people who know each other, frequently as a result of miscommunication and misconceptions about consent). But men are statistically far more likely to experience virtually every other form of violent crime, and those crimes happen at much higher rates than violent sex crime.

On the one hand, it's understandable that people are particularly sensitive to issues surround non-consensual sex. Sex holds a unique place in our culture, and most people view the idea of sexual contact without consent as especially violative. But it definitely seems like issues around it are disproportionately amplified in part simply because society views harms and hardship that women experience as inherently more serious than harms and hardship that men experience.

collective guilt is what they want, and as much as our culture seems to either encourage it or turn a blind eye to it when the target is acceptable (like with men) i really think that this is also mens fault in the sense that too many guys either want to be a hero/protector/good guy/"one of the good ones" and magnifies this culture rather than say something about it, from guys apologizing on behalf of other men to guys going against other men just because women say so or feel like its the right thing.
