I'd be in favor of removing low effort posts, just to cut down on ragebait and the like. However, that does create more work for the mods.

Same opinion as I had on image posts: you can post it, but should be expected to provide a short paragraph explaining your own thoughts on the issue and perhaps why it's relevant to male advocacy if it's not immediately obvious.

I'd also encourage OPs to reply to comments and questions directed at them to clear up or expand on the above point, but I don't know if a rule about that would be a great idea.

Fair enough. I mean, when I do it, I just want to ask others' opinions regarding the subject matter. I am as guilty of doing it as the next person.

I don’t know what tools are available to you, but I think you remove it with an automated message saying that a post can’t just be a link, it needs to have at least a couple of sentences of summary and thoughts to start the discussion going.

Would that include cross-posts from subs like r/MensRights?

I think there is a place for memes, etc. Maybe a Memes Monday or something. Keeps low-effort stuff to one day a week. Many subs do that

Alright, due to a number of posts recently that just ask basic questions without providing any external resources to spur discussion, I'm in agreement that we need to have rule banning low-effort posts.

I feel that low effort posts tend to be more inflammatory ones, I'd favor taking those down. Seems like they're posted out of anger than rather than reasoning and real justification. You need to explain what you saw rather than linking to a provocative article.

I don't think we get enough posts for it to be an issue. If it was clogging up the front page of the sub I'd be more supportive. But generally I think less rules is better, if we can manage it.

In my opinion, it would be vastly preferable to have a policy on low-effort content. If you repost something, or post a picture, at least have a well-written rationale supporting it and explaining why this is relevant to the LWMA.

Hmm, well I have just posted one that you would want banned. But here's the thing: I wrote up an article (albeit a short one, reading time 2 mins) on my blog. Would you really want me to gather it all up, do what I can here with reformatting it to make sense, when I've already done that for an audience on a blog?

Now that said, I don't like having just links posted. Not on my blog nor anywhere else. If the link is worth posting, it is worth posting at least a couple of sentences to show people why they might want to visit the linked item.

Nor do I think this should devolve into a meme-posting place. That's what twit[ter] is for.
