A comment I saw on another sub reminded me of some experiences I used to have when I tried to interact with men’s rights groups that eventually turned out to be too right wing for my taste. It was in response to a post about someone talking about how fathers have it easy in comparison to mothers (which, like many things, is true is certain aspects, but is still undermining the struggles unique to fathers)… by using the example of a man murdering his pregnant partner (in a case that was not self defence).

Is that not misandry, to conflate the very real struggles of fathers with literal homicide? Not only does it ignore the fact that the leading cause for maternal mortality in the US is homicide, not pregnancy related causes, but it plays into the assumption that men are violent brutes who result to murder when put under stress. Stressed men does not a murderer make.

Has anyone else experienced these kinds of actions from other men’s rights groups? They honestly do a massive disservice to the movement.
