I think people hate gay men because they excuse themselves from the heterosexual courting which essentially involves serving and “peacocking” for women. They don’t do their “masculine duty” of being a man who “serves” women as well as not seeking the approval of women through sex. I think women dislike the idea of men turning to other men for their sexual needs, making them “irrelevant” so to speak. And I think homophobic men hate gay men because they see them as men who have “given up”. All societies throughout the world are gynocentric and gay men are the complete antithesis of gynocentrism.

Both men and women play into this shaming of gay men by outright violence and hatred or infantilism and disregard.

As for the Black part, I think most of it has to do with the rigid gender norms enforced on men, and being a real ni**a which of course means having lots of sex with women and being this “king of the hill” esque type person. And being gay is completely excluded from that.

As a gay man one trope I've always hated is that awful shitty men are closeted homophobes. Can't count the number of times I've read people insinuate dictators and the like become twisted like that out of their repressed homosexualities.

This is something that "toxic masculinity" tried to tackle before getting hamstrung by pop feminists who found they could use it to attack individual men instead of societal expectations of men.

Because, yeah - a lot of public hate towards men involves their emasculation, and a lot of people who would be up in arms about toxic masculinity have zero hesitation when posting the Putin is gay/he's just a cuck/whatever memes. It's always an attack on masculinity trying to cause mental anguish.

It's fucking shocking to me because certainly if these types of people realized that emasculation being their online weapon-of-choice implies that men face significant harms due to gender norms they'd be more empathetic. But sadly it seems like most choose to play the weird doublespeak of "the patriarchy can harm men too but any harm that befalls men is immaterial and ultimately not important enough to devote resources to"

Homophobia is one of the most profound forms of Misandry. Two men showing affection without a woman in the picture? This must make the heads of gynocentrists explode. Also it goes completely contrary to the notion that men are physically "ugly" and "disgusting". Do you know what people's biggest problem is they find out i'm gay? They don't tell me im sick or anything like that. The FIRST thing out of their mouth is: "but how can you like MEN, they are disgusting!" (and yes women also tell me that)

As a gay guy I don't feel offended by Putin-memes. The intention is not to show him as gay, therefore less manly, but to make fun of his homophobia.

But I do agree about the rest of what you have written.

men and women are homophobic, sadly. i think its just more to do with religious belief and good old fashioned raw hatred for the different.
