Its tragic realizing it now. I was maxing myself out alot when I was younger and like you at 23 O find myself wondering if it's worth trying to beef yourself up, or to self improve.

Girls will always have that immediate privilage. There are woman paying bills with donation they get from thirsty people. These girls learned no skills or worked hard. They were just born pretty.

I had always thought that dating as a straight man was difficult, primarily because straight men have to carry the weight of initiating, impressing the person they want to date, and deal with frequent rejections (FYI: I'm not a straight man).

I read a book in which this woman dressed up as a man for several months to see what life was like as a man. I remember she was expecting to find dating easy; she thought she would have this much larger pool to choose from as a "straight man" compared to what she had as a lesbian. She had this very rude awakening after trying to approach women at a bar and going on dates with some of them. (I think the title is "Self-Made Man").

I think it's amazing how feminists just pretend that sexual/relationship/romantic privilege does not exist when it clearly does, as if relationships in this area of life weren't a crucial part of human happiness.

ADDENDUM: Of course, if they did admit the obvious fact that it's real, they'd also have to admit that shaming men for their looks, virginity, or general lack of sexual success is indeed punching down.

If we assume your experience is borne out by statistics, what do you think is the solution or mitigation to this problem of unequal experiences in dating?

I'm guessing past societies had less of this problem because they had:

more clear (and culturally enforced) dating and courtship procedures,
more cultural, legal and economic enforcement of monogamy,
no internet dating apps.

Of those three, the condition of no. 2 is probably not coming back. No. 1 is probably not coming back in the same way while our society remains as diverse as it is.

Could part of the solution be for men to take the initiative to develop their own social networks outside of the internet dating system (perhaps largely outside of the Internet), ones that are interesting, fun and inclusive enough that women seek them out to find men?

the problem is these days... even if you are able to get a girl out, her like you... etc. even if you develop a relationship....

give it a couple months she will get bored and is still getting messaged by 20 dudes an hour...

and even if she doesn't... that time she had an unforgetabble bangtime with joe-long-john, even if you get her orgasming, its never gonna be like that rough baang she got by that dude..

not to mention that with the constant attention women get, they are pretty annoying and don't ever actually have to learn anything, do anything to impress YOU, etc.

and contrary to feminism, ladies love upholding the patriarchy and being passive.

i say mgtow is the only way to deal. cmv.

Tbh that’s not female privilege at all. That’s simple biology. Men outnumber women. So, in turn men have to impress the woman by appealing to them and proving they’re a worthy mate. The woman appeals to the man by having larger reproductive organs and tissue, hence why larger breasts and thighs are considered attractive. You can see this in non-human examples too, for example some male birds need to build large nests to impress the female birds and prove they’re worthy. The female is worthy by being large. The larger the female, the better the mate.
