Your 20s are the toughest time to be a man. My 20s was one long, decade of nightmares. School problems, 9/11, two massive recessions, entering the job market with a technical degree right after the dot com bust, depression, lost both of my parents, kidney failure, laid off and work problems, mental health problems as a result of kidney problems, Dialysis, the mountain of medication I was on, no social life, desperately trying to hold onto my sanity and just survive.
And that was without dealing with any women. I will always be thankful for that. i had enough to deal with, girl problems would just make digging myself out of it all impossible.
To all you young guys out there, it does get better. Don't think of your 20s as the best time of your life, they really aren't. They are something you have to survive.

This. I went to Uni, degree, post grad degree, post doc research, so I started real work late, like about 27 (don't regret it, Uni was good for me, but that was the late 70s early 80s before things went really shitty). So looking back, if I hadn#t made the mistake of getting the woman, and if instead I'd concentrated on myself, stacking savings and the like, then by my late 30s (so a bit later because of my curcumstances) I would have been set up and on the way to retiring in my 50s.
Instead, I am still working. Work from home, its now like 10am where I am, and I have already had a short break to get myself some breakfast and do the washing up from last night. Meanwhile wifey has spent the morning so far on social media and in the bath.
Any younger guys reading this. Be aware, be careful, don't fuck up your lives like I did!

I got lucky, in a way. I suffered from serious mental illness in my 20s so either wasn't able to chase tail or just wasn't interested. After a lot of work on myself, my mental health is much better at 30 and I'm wiser about that kind of thing. I'm in a lot of debt but I'm not tied down or anything.
Thirded. Things got better for me around 35. Things got REALLY better in my 40's. My best decade has been 42 to now and every year I get better financially. If I live to retirement @ 60 I'll be very well set for hopefully 20 good years of nothing but what I want to do.

This is my experience as well, when I turned 40, things went from good to great, because I was now old enough, and had enough experience, to see the patterns. The market cratered back in march, I put in a ton of money when it bottomed out, it bounced right back up, and I made a massive profit.
I would not have had the money on hand to take advantage of that opportunity, nor the experience to see that opportunity for what it was, when I was younger.

Yup, in 2014, and my blood test results come back better each time I take them. My doctor says that patients who have early blood test results like I have tend to have transplants that go the distance.

I'm looking at Idaho like between idaho falls and jackson wy, cheap houses out there, lots of land, and 30min from Jackson Hole. Probably a good investment too with how popular that place is becoming. My aunt's lived out there for almost 15 years and she said it's growing like crazy in the areas surrounding it because more people wanna live there but cannot afford Jackson.
Outta curiosity, what trucking company did you work for? I don't wanna lease/purchase, don't think it's worth it for someone who will only be doing it for 5-7 years.

Some people are so detached from reality.
I was in the city on a school field trip that day. I literally remember hearing the planes crashing into the buildings, the chaos and terror that caused me and my classmates. Lost a lot of family friends that day.
It was like a giant bludgeon to the American psyche. A strike at what could be considered a main hub of the US and certainly at the time its financial capital.
I remember people who weren't even there having nightmares and shakes of terror just from imagining that anywhere could be next. Some people swore off flying for a long time.

I was around 30 on 9/11 and that hit a lot of us very personally even if we did not know anyone that died, you have to realize up until that point the US had never been attacked like that, having a lot of deaths from something as horrible as terrorism hit us hard, there was a general sense of despair which quickly turned to anger , people wanted someone to fucking pay.
Which unfortunately led to the gulf war and things have not really improved much since then, I think America kind of started down a dark path because of 9/11, we justified all kinds of horrible shit in the name of 9/11, I feel like America lost some of its innocence and its empathy that day and it seems like ever since 9/11 there has been a decline in American politics and even scarier a decline in our culture ( SJW's, etc..) 9/11 of course is not responsible for all of it but it felt like a catalyst that sped up the decline.

I was 13 when 9/11 happened, which lined me up perfectly with the Marine Corps and fun times in the sand box. 9/11 literally set my life in a shitty direction. The military was horrible, had two kids young in the military, got married and when I left the military the wife bounced and re-married some dipshit who was on smack, lost all of his teeth, unemployed for six years living on her welfare, family help and my child support. I'm 33 and still paying them a substantial portion of my income.Ex wife is unemployed again and on kid number 4 because she essentially gets paid by the state to. Hardly get to see my kids, credit has been smashed for 10 years due to child support, unable to finance anything or go anywhere etc etc etc.
I wonder if 9/11 hadn't happened where I' be. I would have never met her or be forced to pay loadies and druggies half of my income to "take care" of my kids.

As an American, the world fundamentally changed on 9/11. It has been over 19 years since it happened, but every American who is old enough to remember it, remembers where they were and what they were doing when they heard about it.
If you watch American tv, media, and news reporting, you'd think 9/11 never happened. We promised ourselves, on that day, that we would never forget. Many of us have kept that promise, most of us, and those who lead us, have forgotten it. Only a nation that has forgotten 9/11 elects Joe Biden as President.
Most of us would prefer to go back to the world as it was before 9/11, and would prefer to avoid confronting harsh truths about life. Many of my countrymen and women have their heads buried in the sand. 9/11 fundamentally changed my life; it was the start of my asking questions about things I had never questioned before.

Why do frustrated men, in their late teens and early twenties, do so many stupid things to lash out at society and to cause harm to themselves and the people around them? Because people telling you that you just have to find a way to get through it, and that things will get better, is vastly different from seeing it first hand and actually believing it.
Why are school shooters just as strongly correlated to single motherhood as they are to guns? No positive male figure in the young man's life. No example for him to see of an older man who "figured it out" and managed to get through the shit he's going through now. No evidence that it will get better. All he knows is pain, and he just wants to make it stop.
It is so damn hard to create a school shooter. in-group bias is a real thing. It is hard to make a man turn on the people who are around him. The price of stopping a shooting spree is quite literally a cookie, delivered at the right time. The smallest hint of compassion and understanding are all that is required. A positive role model/father figure and it never happens.

I heavily agree. It's easy to see people that already have their lives together and are happy and successful. It's much more rare and uncommon to actually see the process of someone turning their life around.
I've been slowly building up small successes after lots of therapy and self work. Luckily my parents divorced when I was already a teen so my mother couldn't isolate me from my father too much.
That's what really gets me. I look at school shooters and the violent with pity. I just can't help but think "do you even realize how far you have to push a man before he lashes out in anger?". How miserable and isolated their lives must have been for them to act this way. Did no one show them love or compassion even once?
And then I see that they're sons of single mothers and I realize they were probably berated and abused even at home. They never even truly knew what quiet, peace, and love were because they were never shown it anywhere in their lives. What a terrible and heartbreaking tragedy.

Sometimes these guys come off like members of some kind of chess club who want to brag about how good they are at playing chess, and then when somebody comments that they're not into chess they get all upset because somebody isn't super-impressed by their chess trophy. Then they say that you shouldn't just give up on chess and that anybody can be good at it if they just come to their weeklong $5k chess camp.
I mean, if you want to play chess and want to learn to play it well, then have fun with it. However, these guys basically want to demean anybody who doesn't have the same set of interests that they do. If some pretty girl in a dress isn't impressing me with the "can't get a girlfriend?" shaming tactic, why would some guy with a PUA show impress me with the same line?

Boys need to understand that no matter what happens in life don’t let anyone tell you that you aren’t where you should be or doing what you should be doing. You don’t need a woman, a family of your own nothing.
Do whatever you want and if it’s nothing then do that. Just make enough money to survive in your own. You don’t need a house or a full time job if you don’t want but life wil oils be easier if you have that.
Just find a job you like and a place you like and make enough to pay everything when it needs to be paid and save a lot of money so you can be free of that as well.

Once I finished everything and had a good job I started to get laid. Now 27 I nearly fucked up everything in search of pussy. I started to slack off at work. I forgot things I used to know. It was bad. And I wanted to marry this girl. Thankfully she cheated on me then. That put me through hell but I've come out much stronger. Well, keep in mind that is basically how they are genetically engineered to operate.
I mean, if all the preying mantis males decided that becoming dinner for the privilege of having kids isn't a good deal, then the species would be extinct in a season. The only preying mantis males that reproduce are the ones willing to give up their lives for the cause, and so all the newborn preying mantises have this behavior baked into their genes.
Human brains are more complex so we're less slave to instinct, but the whole reason that emotional drives are so powerful is because our genetics don't WANT us to stop and think when there is a potential opportunity to reproduce.
That's part of why I don't care for the way everybody beats up on blue-pill guys. They're basically wired to be simps, and maybe some of us are just wired a bit more strongly than others. It is like looking at the victims of a plane crash and asking why the people sitting in row 35 didn't do more to prevent the crash.

I'm autistic with bipolar and a stutter.
I literally had to learn everything: how to speak well, how to be emotionally stable, how to be confident, how to socialise, how to not be manipulated or screwed over, how to get over social anxiety, and probably a few more things.
Because people who are autistic generally can't do social things instinctively, I had to break everything down into a system and follow the system. Imagine a robot who's good at systems and logic but needs human programming installed. That's what it's like (to me, at least).
It took years and years to learn everything and I'm finally there at the age of 30. If I could go back now, I'd be doing much better than I did the first time, but we all have to take our losses in life. In my case, it's 30 years of the only life I'll ever have but I can't get it back so here we are.

But I would really like to try and make it a social norm that young men in their 20s don't chase women but focus more on earning. (I do realize that is much harder said than done given hormones).
But it honestly the best time to plan and save for your future. Every penny you save and invest, is one step closer to not having to work in the future! At that age you have all the energy in the world, and even if you're working a low paying job, just putting in the hours alone means you can make bank. Honestly, I know you've been given a free pass to do whatever you want for the first time in your lives, but tomorrow does come, so plan for it.

My 20s sucked financially but I did fine with women, as I always had an attitude of never wanting to get married so never had any pressure to date seriously. My entire career shifted completely 2 months after turning 30. I literally turned 30 and instantly had: new car, new jobs and a new apartment within that time period - on top of a falling out with friends a whole life reset that worked out wonderfully.
I spent 3 years of my 20s living in Los Angeles and that was pure torture. You have the constant feeling of not being good enough thrown into your face everyday.

L.A.'s culture of success throws it in your face every weekend. You never have enough money to do anything. Being poor in New Orleans is one thing, everyone your age is poor and in the service industry, it's easy to go out and have cheap fun. In Los Angeles, people your age are extremely wealthy kids of wealthy people. You're outgunned everywhere.

That's exactly what I did. I pulled as much as I wanted to. Never married. No kids to take care of. And now I'm 45, living in a house that I own alone, driving the truck I want and working the professional job I want. I date. I don't worry. The level of stress is slow low, I don't even know how to describe it to others who did the opposite.

Had a pregnancy scare at 24: chick was dead set on keeping it and it would have ruined my life. Also become an alcoholic in my 20's, which I didn't start cleaning up until 34 (AA). Wasted a lot of time chasing women and dating...which always ended in disaster. 34 was when I woke up, discovered some Red Pill shit, and started focusing on myself instead of romance. 20's can be fun, but ONE WRONG MOVE (young marriage, debt, getting a girl pregnant, addiction) can fuck you up for a long time to come. Generally, if you don't have a wife and a kid, you can start cleaning up the mess in your 30's. So be careful!

My 20s were super easy for pulling back home — I was raised in South Florida.
Sex there is a joke.
I was a late bloomer, started at 18. But once I started... sh*t...
I was even cheating on two other girls with my main and my main forgave me when she found out years later (we were still together for a bit).
The military ruined my chances of getting laid (had it not been for my high school sweetheart, I probably wouldn’t have been getting laid much).
But yeah, this is legit.
Sex is a pain to obtain unless you’re in a highly sexualized area.
Looking back, so much could have gone wrong.
The Lord was definitely looking out for me.
