This is a somewhat common thing.
True story: Army buddy of mine was assigned to guard one of Saddam's palaces after the Iraq War. He found a shit ton of US Dollars squirreled away in a hidden compartment and decided not to turn it to the chain of command, but to keep it for himself.
His original plan was to bring it back to the US and buy a house for cash. But it turns out it's really, really hard to smuggle cash into the US unless if you're just an average dude and not an organized cartel. Flying it home on your person on a military or commercial plane is a really great way to get yourself arrested.
So in the end he decides fuck it, I won't take it home, I'll just fly to Thailand with it on R&R and blow it all there and have a hell of a time. So for a couple weeks he's having orgies with a half dozen hookers at once, snorting every kind of powder known to man, etc.

If you feel like killing yourself, maybe actually take stock of your situation and do your best to fix the problems in your life. No money? get a better job and put your savings together. Shit friends? cut them out, change your number. Unfulfilled goals? get to work on them, right now.
There are very few situations in which you should kill yourself, outside of being taken hostage and tortured or if you have a bad terminal illness (euthanasia).
