We lost a potential brother today. A guy who was with my company, who I barely knew, but seemed to have it all together. He thought he was getting married soon. Maybe he found out he wasn't getting married, I dunno, but he decided to end it.

Anyway, here's the reason: Whatever you are going through, it will end. Let me repeat that: WHATEVER YOU ARE GOING THROUGH, IT WILL END.

I came out of my divorce penniless, living in a shitty apartment while my 4-bedroom house went up for foreclosure. I had to fix my aging Jeep in the parking lot, in the snow, because I couldn't afford to pay a mechanic. I felt like a failure (and rightfully so!) I was so broke that the IRS forgave me $50,000, giving up on the debt as "uncollectable". Child support authorities offered to take away my license (and the next step is jail, right fellas?) And every morning, I had to come up with a reason not to kill myself.

Guess what? It ended.

It all ended, eventually.

It ended because I worked my ass off, and I improved myself. After months of going down to the utility company, begging them not to shut my power off, I was eventually able to pay my bill on time.

Because I worked.

At the age of 43, I, a former business owner, was working as a temp, lifting car batteries in a warehouse. That ended too.

Because I worked.

My crippling depression and suicidal thoughts? They're gone.

Because I worked.

I worked 7 days a week for 6 years, and when you're working, you've got no time for worrying. I moved to a better apartment, made peace with my ex, paid off my back child support, and improved myself.

You can do it too--I'm nothing special. I'm not a navy SEAL or a motivational speaker. Hell, I don't even go to the gym.

We are men. We work. We are programmed to do it. And without a woman interfering with our thought patterns, we can improve ourselves and get better work.

No matter how bad your situation is, unless you're on death row, it will end. And it will end by you putting in the work.

I know it sucks. I know that feeling bad for yourself feels strangely good, and it's a whole lot easier than self-improvement. Do the work. I know you're worried about the future, and what your kids will think about you, and all that pussy nonsense. Do The Work.

You'll find that Work will solve almost all of your problems, and the ones it doesn't, you'll be too tired to worry about.

Just do one thing a day--hell, just do one thing a week--to improve yourself. Start a new habit, watch a few YouTube videos, cut out sugar, read up on stoicism. Baby steps.

The bad things in your life have an expiration date, but only if you Do The Work.
