On the most basic level, I have sympathy for accidentally walking into someone else's home and being startled to find someone there. Startled I understand. Drawing a gun I understand.

However at that point I'd be assessing the situation - is he armed? Can I clearly see his hands? Is he aggressive or scared? High, drunk or sober? How many, if any, others were there? Anyone creeping up behind me?

Then I'd be calling for backup while giving the guy the chance to say something. People often tell you stuff you need to hear, such as "My friend in the other room has a gun." so let the fucker speak.

Upon speaking and claiming this is his flat, you spend a moment double-checking you're in the right flat, and at that point you spot the totally different furnishing etc.

But no, this trained and armed police officer ignored what he was saying and simply shot him, figuring she'd get to enjoy being lauded as the bad-ass heroine who defended herself against a scary intruder.

In short, rather than value life and seeking the best solution, she threw his life away and took the opportunity to shoot someone for her own pleasure and ego.

Murder.

I know several people made comments after the verdict on the news making the about race. I can acept that. I however make this about the pussypass she would get. The state of Texas has a habit of giving female murderers a pass. For reference look at the sentences of the women the slaughtered thier children. One of those cases they put her husband in jail for her crime....on the otherhand the verdict took away a frightening precedent where someone could come in to your house and kill you and claim it was an accident. If I enter the wrong apartment, I would pick up on it immediately, on the smallest details. I would bump into something right away, or realize there is something that does not belong to me. I have entered a wrong apartment before actually, when I was at a friend's place, for example, and it never took me more than a split second to realize it, usually with immediate embarrassment.

There is something incredibly fishy about this. I really, really want to know if they had some past history and she was out for some revenge. If they had any past personal involvement at all, I would immediately start digging further in that direction. This might well be a case of a woman scorned and the fallout from it, some vindictive bullshit.

I am not buying a word she says. I would rather bet she tried to kill him. Wasn't there some woman who set the house on fire because she was asked to turn the music down? If he lived RIGHT ABOVE HER, did she maybe feel annoyed by noise? Have there been any noise complaints from her about him?

Either way, this story stinks to heavens and I really think there is more to it. Someone does not spend anything more than a few seconds in an apartment that is not theirs, even if it had the EXACT SAME layout as the one below. Did it, BTW? Did it have the same layout? If she needs more than a few seconds to realize she is in the wrong apartment she must have been high or drunk, not just tired.

I’d like to also point out that the Dallas PD needs to be investigated for not taking her into custody but instead giving her 3 whole days to get her story straight and turning herself in. Anyone else would have been arrested on the spot. So why the difference in how it was handled.
