Divorced dad here.

When a guy tells me that he is getting married, I tell him congrats but I ask him why he wants to get married. Usually, I hear the line of 'I love her' or 'it's the right thing to do.'

You can still love someone and spend your life with them. There really isn't an upside for a male to get married. There are countless downside such as potential alimony, etc.

My only piece of advice for a guy that wants to get married today, is to read the 'Duluth Wheel of Control' and think about it. At first, they will think it won't happen to them. Then, they will notice the subtle hints of feminist 'empowerment.'

Everything about women is near sighted, impulsive and short term.

Give women the right to vote? Welfare explode because feels

Give them reproductive freedom? Genetic quality in nosedive because they become hypergamous

Give them a larger voice in divorce? Marriage is destroyed as they just use it as a tool to get daddy government to force wealth transfer

It keeps going. Look at what feminism considers victory in medias. Take male franchises, switch to vaginas, declare queefing victory immediately before the movies are revealed to be giant dumpster fires and move on to the next.

Make no mistake, unless there is reform in divorce and pregnancy trapping, it'll stay that way. Remove these two and the unchecked, rotting beast that is modern feminism will almost vanish overnight.

My favorite is the "well, he should've picked a better partner!" replies whenever the topic is brought up. "That's what you get with a golddigger!"

Setting aside that they usually hide that fact from potential mates, the line of defense works no where else. And yet the replies are highly upvoted. When someone asked if that'd apply to folk who marry abusers they was ignored and just downvoted.

The bias is, well, I was going to say unbelievable but sadly I've come to expect it.
