I could cop to being 'bitter' to an extent, but I didn't learn it from any guy. I was chasing women and in a relationship non stop, (greatest period single was about 3 months, but still dated throughout) from 14yo to 26. A never ending parade of women, each one saying the same things, having the same conversations, the same arguments, the same ideology.

At a certain point I just felt like I had been working another job, and the pay wasn't worth it. The idea that there's some perfect, kind, lovely partner is not probable from what I saw. The chances of finding a woman who's kind, healthy in body and habit, wants to be a mother, and accepts the marital contract as being a lifelong duty are pretty much gone.

Instead I had nothing but nice, supposedly conservative girls telling me "I don't cook, or clean, and I'm never gonna sit around the kitchen barefoot while you go off to have your fun, fulfilling career." but invariably, while domestic motherhood was off the table, so was an actual career. Instead, it's my duty to play mother and father, caretaker, provider, and the gamut while she focuses on her insta page "modeling", her "painting", or whatever other status climbing attention-getting hobby she styled as 'fulfilling'.

Not to mention the disdain that even 'good' girls have towards children. They really see them as a drag, an obligation they have to put up with, and from all my friend's wives they see no reason to actually parent. It's much easier to eat, nap, watch netflix, surf facebook and insta, and give the kid an iphone and tablet when it turns 3 so it can "entertain itself." if it has too much energy? Not enough? It's fine! Just drug it! Not your fault! Mothering is "the hardest job on earth, after all!".

So yeah, I'm bitter to an extent. I've spent my life building myself into the kind of man, father, and husband I believed would be worthy of my dream spouse, someone who wants to build a happy, thriving home. And instead of even playing along with the pretext that they want it too, they mock me and say I'm 'toxic' for expecting someone to hold up her end of the deal.

It's a bummer, I just want someone to play house with me, without the immense likelihood that I end up hanging myself in my single-car garage post-divorce because I'm never gonna see my kid and can't afford alimony/support.
