2013 it was about the merits of tipping in a restaurant.

She was insistent that we should tip 20% as the food was great.

In the UK its custom in most places to leave a little something for the server but the staff are all paid normal wages so its a bonus rather than a set percentage.

In a moment of clarity, I agreed and paid the bill and told her that she can get the tip.

Oh the mental back peddling and deep thought that occurred when she added the idea if her paying the tip into her argument. It went from an abstract "workers need more money" to a "Why she has to personally pay workers more money" .

It was not even that much but it was fun to watch. She tried bless her but I just watch smiling as she placed the tip on the table... it was classic!

I had an intellectual conversation with a random tweeker at the pub last night. No idea what his politics were. It never came up. It was mostly about exoplanets and ramification of socio-political issues in regard to discovering extra-solar life.

Good question. The answer to both is I honestly cannot remember. It seems women get all of their politics, and everything else that comprises their personality, these days exclusively from social media. They have an algorithm instead of a personality. That's true for a lot of men too, not just having a go at the ladies here, but women are more social than men by nature and so are more susceptible to it.

This was in fact a big factor in my tapping out of the dating market entirely. I need someone I can consider "on my level" I need that intellectual sparring partner. But towards the end there dates were starting to feel like coffee with an Amazon Alexa.

Depends on who you speak too. I had an intelligent conversation a few years back with a woman my age. She asked me what I thought about the multiverse theories, something I’m interested in, and it led to a two hour conversation about that, exoplanets, and the statistical probability of alien life in our galaxy and the universe.

I was training her on a commissions system we were using, and she saw my wallpaper of a galaxy.

We flirted off and on, but I have a philosophy of not fishing off the dock. She also commented that she couldn’t make the move I was making - taking a pay cut for a midlife career change to teach middle school science. However, my interest was sparked - she’s intellectually and physically stimulating.

Now that said, my students know they can get me off topic when asking questions about astronomy and physics. However, I have had a few students, both male and female, tell me they share the love of astronomy.

Im kinda busy,but i have a friend i talk to and she can talk about anything honestly the last stereotypically big conversations, but usual ones, big ones and the sort of high ones like pollution or just a talk about renewable energy, she isnt the greatest character wise, in the same way other women can be, but she isnt really bad, shes got somw brain in her noggin aswell so id say its mostly just how you pick or percieve friends, you just gotta filter out the breathing sexdolls

I have a really solid female friend where I live. Very platonic, very open, and we like just talking about deep stuff. She really only hangs out with me when she has "broken up" again or bored, so I know it's partially for her benefit, but in this very specific case I'm not totally upset. If anybody has the right to claim "not like other girls", it legitimately is her.

All that to say, a month or so ago?

I have another text friend I met in 2010 at college as well. She's hands down one of the most emotionally intelligent girls I've ever met. She keeps up with me and I keep up with her, and if I was ever going to be into anyone, she's it 😂 but I don't think she's into me. Lives in another state. We talk periodically though and it's always very insightful for both of us. Only problem is she's christian in a religious environment so that holds her back a bit.

I always have an intellectual conversation with women. That is something I control. Maybe they get it, maybe they don't. Maybe they think I am smart and want to bang me because smartness means earning potential. Maybe it turns them off. Maybe its just a discussion.

Last time I talked to a non lefty woman was a few years ago, she was interviewed in the local paper about why the heck she voted for Trump lol. Good stuff. I wish I had banged her but I never made a move because it was a work thing.

Here we go again with the "MGTOW: let's focus on [insert aspect]of women" posts. Some women are capable of having intellectual conversations, others....are not.....this is not much different than men. What does this topic matter other than a desire to confirm your own biases? A good conversation is a good conversation, and if you find women you can have good conversation with, let that be that. If you can't find a good conversation with a woman, then stick to the people that you have the most enriching conversations with. But I will assuredly tell you, there are women out there that can give you incredible, deep, meaningful conversation -- although rare.

Earlier today. And it isn’t some rare, freak occurrence. Roughly half of my friends are women. I have a very good relationship with my sister and my mom.

Here’s another honest question: If you have negative experiences and toxic relationships with all, or even a vast majority of women, what’s more likely: 50% of the world’s population is incapable of healthy adult relationships, or one individual needs to focus on growth and self improvement?

My Honest Answer: I can't recall the last time I had a conversation with a woman that wasn't insipid or gossip. I have never had conversations with women the way I have them with other men where we talk about business, history, politics, food, tech, cars, cigars, or places that we wanna check out or events we are looking forward to. I've never in my life (that I can recall) have I ever had such a conversation with a woman. It's always trivial small talk or it's just me listening to their problems and not expecting any feedback from me and with zero interest in a solution to said problems. They just like to talk and be heard.

It's hard to know where to draw the line. I mean, I just came away from talking with an ex-colleague (a woman) about dysfunctional dynamics in the workplace, some people's over-concern with status and power, and whether or not we wanted to return to the profession (we are both retired). Is that an "intellectual" conversation? It was certainly deeper than the items you mentioned.

Otoh, I've often bemoaned that when I get stupid enough to go on dating sites looking for a match, I cannot find a woman who expresses any intellectual interests whatsoever. Most of them have the most tedious, cliche, superficial descriptions, combined with a list of interests that make me fall asleep.

As for the last time I talked to a woman who wasn't liberal, that would've been a few days ago. I do live in a very red state, though, and I tend to fraternize with older people, who tend to be more conservative.

I have a female friend that I can talk engineering and physics with. She is married also.

Everybody thinks she is weird as fuck. Though her female brain is always present and sometimes I see her brain switching back and forth.

The monkey branching is always there and her husband thinks I am an orbiter.
So even if females are intelligent I have found they still plan the same. Looking for the next male just in case, keeping males around for validation.

I keep conversations light around women, and only with men can I delve into something deep and meaningful.

Women seem to just not understand and flip to mocking it or making jokes and then getting upset that you aren't laughing.

Intellectual conversations with ANYONE is rare, much less with any particular sex. That is why I like this internet fad, I get to listen to people like Shapiro, Prager, Rubin, and Peterson.

As to liberal left women, I live in the American South so leftist women are pretty few and far between. If I do run into one they invariably are employed by FedEx at their World HQ which is about 2 miles (3 km) from my house.

Here's the thing. I think that some of the most interesting conversations that I've ever held have been with women. Older women. As a man in his 20s, I can say with confidence that younger girls are boring as fuck, but I will say that in my field of work, there has been a lot of shadowing and discussing of deeper meaning with my older female coworkers. So yes I have, but I have not had a conversation worth remembering with a dating candidate. Very important distinction

I had an interesting conversation with a woman about politics, the need/not need of hierarchical systems, monogamy, etc. I kind of got the sense she was mad I was disagreeing all the time but it was an interesting conversation. Yeah politics.

So no. I don't really get into deep conversations with women that aren't politics. Minutiae is wasted on them, they just aren't interested. If I've talked at length with a woman about something deep and it's unrelated to politics it's usually because I was thinking out loud and basically monologuing at them
