Let's be honest, If this had been something similar about vaginas there would be absolute chaos.

You wanna play the blame game? Ok, i can do that too.

Who raised those boys?

Who is it that has overwhelming custody of children? Why are the majority of criminals from single mother households including almost every school shooter?

Feminists who blame 'toxic masculinity' or 'male violence' and treat boys like they are damaged somehow are full of shit. Cos if you actually look unbiased, the finger points the other way.

Just take a look at how feminists indoctrinate and demonize boys. (far far more examples exist but you should get the point) :

Feminists even think their own sons are rapists.

They write delusional pieces on male power, again concerning their own sons

There are hundreds of articles like this on how they indoctrinate their sons

Another one here (just search, see how many there are)

And we now we have hundreds of videos on how they are proudly indoctrinating their infant boys

Like seriously look at this shit

Even TED

Another one (plenty more where that came from, just search)

Schools are doing it too. This one is particularly despicable. They made boys apologize to girls for the crimes of their gender

A post from 6 years ago (from a sub banned for 'hate'):

A 14 year old friend of mine got suspended for telling a student(girl) feminist in his class that the wage gap was a myth. She cried and he got an inschool suspension, he then gets an essay assignment(unrelated) to write about why feminism is a great movement and how The Great Gatsby is patriarchal and sexist. He's stuck in the downward spiraling loop of punishment by the school for things he thinks are bullshit and is voicing himself. He is pulling F's in all his classes and he feels rejected by the education system, how do I get it through his head that school is important and help him feel that he still has control in his life? Should he speak out against his school, his teachers, what should I tell him? His teacher is saying that everything bad in society is his fault and that being a man is sexist. You must be a feminist.

This is the 'assignment'

And if all that is too much effort, just kill them so they won't abuse women in the future.

The dads on duty program is enough to show you how much of an effect men have on children.

This mass propaganda spread by feminists claiming men are useless and women can be both the parents (while leeching child support and welfare, not so strong and independent for that eh?) is horseshit as data proves they failed miserably in that regard.

Check out the Boy Crisis by Warren Farrell to see how stupid of a move this was/is.

Fathers doing something as simple as roughhousing their kids is crucial for their development. But women don't know/care about that do they?

And the government/courts doesn't give a shit as it gets a piece of every cent of alimony and child support.

There are couple of more reasons for the high rate of shooters but you can bet your ass this is one of the biggest ones.

Nearly 80 percent of the suicides are men which no one cares about in a gynocentric society. There are a few men who ultimately choose to kill others along with themselves and then people blame everything but the actual problems.

The crisis of Fatherless shooters

Holy fucking shit. Reading http://www.rolereboot.org/culture-and-politics/details/2017-07-im-done-pretending-men-safe-even-sons/ pissed me the fuck off. Seriously. I usually dont get mad. How fucking dare someone assume their experience as a whole group is worth more merit than any individuals? Many men have grown up in abuse, cancer, disease, mental illness and so much more. We are not privileged. And for this bitch to come over and say that OUR experience is not as worthy of a womens is absolutely ridiculous. Men, run away from women like this. They will ruin you. They view men as a group, white people as a group, rather than viewing people as people.

[–]pacsatonifil 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly! I always point that out too. Specially with the homophobia or religious extremism. Make it seem like it is only men who are at fault. Then I ask who raised that boy?

[–]suchanub 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Damn. You’ve got some points

[–]Aimless-Nomad 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Very sad world we live in.

[–]dw87190 48 points49 points50 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Matriarchy creates mass shooters, feminism creates mass shooters, the education system's war on boys creates mass shooters, misandrist teachers create mass shooters, abusive mothers create mass shooters, girls who rape, sexually assault and abuse boys turn them into mass shooters, women and girls scapegoating boys turn them into mass shooters

[+]JaquenHaggar -20 points-19 points-18 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's important to blame women for the actions of men. That way women look like the bad ones. This is an integral part of the mens rights movement and I appreciate this comment.

[–]ABeeBox 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly the same thing feminist subs do? The war in Ukraine "Men must stay and fight the war" but also "women most affected".

I read an article that read "Women and Girls are most vulnerable at war time". What about boys? A 30 year old woman would have a better chance at defending herself than a 10 year old boy. Boys are completely excluded. Oh, and women are forcefully conscripted to die. They have the freedom to migrate.

I don't agree with the comment above you. I don't think there is a matriarchy, but have you heard of the pendulum swing?

What results do you expect if you continue to blame men for every action that they have and haven't done. Every problem and issue is "because of men".

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How is it possible to woosh this hard?

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women raise broken men. Plain and simple. Mothers are just fundamentally unable to look past "got to raise him so that others can benefit from him" female mentality, even where it comes to their own child.

[–]dw87190 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You get a gold medal for missing the point

[–]BasedDev 38 points39 points40 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean, it is correct, toxic males go on to become mass shooters. However, toxic females go on to become the mothers of mass shooters.

Family breakdown is an extremely common thread that runs through the lives of all of these killers.

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah they stopped looking at what creates toxic men; they just blamed them for being toxic.

[–]arkile 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

aoc is toxic fem nazi race baiter

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You mean the woman who settled on two campaigned finance charges for giving her campaign manager two payments that ironically totaled freakishly close to the amount of debt she owed for college? The women who did that and voted against a bill to have more transparency with police (she was 1 of only 5 people who voted against this fucking common sense Bill), yet pulls the wool over peoples eyes pretending she is fighting for the people?

The women who never corrected a single person who said she wrote the Green New Deal.. which has been around since before she was born and was amended by a male professor at Cornell Univ.?

Color me shocked, I am stunned she would say such stupid, self serving shit. Shocked I tell you!

[–]Reddit_kills_kids 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Y'know I'm sure this will work. The same way screaming at little abused boys that they'll become abusers works. After all, everyone knows taunts and insults are the best therapy.

[–]EstablishmentKooky50 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I am sick and tired listening to this BS. Patriarchy, toxic masculinity, male entitlement and alike ideas are nothing but snake oils poisoning the well. Using these ideas makes it impossible to have meaningful conversations that we must have in order to solve the very real and relatively new social problems like school shootings. But instead of those conversations these brainless idiots misidentify and reduce the othervise always complex and multi faceted reasons into one single boogieman "the patriarchy" or say that these problems occur because there is something wrong with men/masculinity.. They are causing many if not most of these problems.

[–]Potato-with-guns 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Those who blame it on masculinity are just as bad as the republicans blaming it on trans people.

[–]Sindaras 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Republicans are blaming mass shootings on trans people?

[–]ShubNiggurath20 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah candice owens called cross-dressing is a mental disease.

[–]Sindaras 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

But what does that have to do with shootings?

[–]Potato-with-guns 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She was saying that the shooter must be mentally I’ll because they cross dressed. It was in regards to another republican who made a tweet saying “I found the shooter’s Reddit account, they were trans”, falsely accusing a trans person of the shooting.

[–]Sindaras 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, looked into it myself too, seems like its just another bullshit claim from the right trying to do damage control

[–]63daddy 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love the commentary by Singeltary. Woke Progressives often spew their standard identity politics rhetoric in ways that make no sense for the situation at hand.

It’s good to see someone has the Cahoonas to call out such nonsensical identity politics.

[–]Sindaras 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]politits -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

She’s not wrong, and “toxic masculinity” is not the same as masculinity and it is recognized by the American psychiatric association for a reason.

“The University in California did a comprehensive study of school/mass/spree shooters of all ages & found that the common link between them ALL is a vehement hatred of women (80% had a history of domestic violence). Most killed a female relative/gf/wife immediately prior to the event”

And commenters on this sub are blaming women and “misandry” and not seeing the irony in their own comments. 97% of murderers in the US are men. Can’t wait for all the misogynists here to find a way to blame women for that.

You can advocate for men without hating women. Most people on this sub need to learn that lesson. Then again, most people on this sub already hate women and should be considered risks for domestic violence and mass shootings.

[–]mushroomshoe2 points 4 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

I'd say most people hate how they've been treated by women consistently for years. I see a lot of venting but no true hatred for women. Toxic masculinity just blames men, psychiatric division or not. Just because an organization recognizes it doesn't mean it's helpful. Just like how consensus isn't fuckin science and a huge number of people don't know that.

[–]politits -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No. Most people would not say that. You just outed yourself as an extremist. And if you are really claiming that you don’t see hatred, just venting, then I have news for you: a sizable portion of that “venting” you’re seeing is hatred and you are blind to it because you “hate” how you’ve been treated by women. Not “I wish I had more luck with women.” You said “hate” and then projected that hate onto most men when that isn’t even close to being the case, the same way that rapists thibk that most men rape. You just admitted to being part of the problem without even knowing it.

You are currently on a dangerous path for both yourself and others and I highly suggest you seek help before it’s too late.

[–]mushroomshoe3 points 4 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

Like you are an internet psychologist in its truest form. You know nothing about me and my lifestyle, how I treat people, etc. Maybe I just don't interpret the comments the same as you? I've hated MYSELF for YEARS because I've been told I am the problem. I've been surrounded by women who constantly shit on men and turn around and tell me "but you're okay". I've been emotionally and sexually abused by women. It's fucking annoying and I fell into the trap of self hatred, but I'm not stupid enough to actually believe they meant harm. I treat people as individuals, not the groups they're a part of.

I actually broke out of that self hatred because of this subreddit. I never hated anyone but myself. I blamed myself for everything because i tend to take responsibility for more than I should, like I imagine a lot of people do here, like a lot of men are taught. So, kindly get your head out of your ass and stop parroting psychology articles like you understand the human brain from choice words.

[–]politits -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Again, I’m not having to do any reaching. And again, I didn’t have to prompt you to admit hate and several other serious issues a second time just now.

I’m so sorry for what happened to you. Sexual assault is horrible and causes lasting trauma to any victim. I really encourage you to seek help before you are consumed by your own negative feels. It doesn’t have to be that way. I appreciate you admitting that you hate yourself too. That is definitely a problem as well. I really hope you seek help.

I used to be an angry person as well, and therapy helped a lot. You don’t have to suffer under the burden of your hate for yourself, women, or anyone else. And though you say you got over your hate for yourself, you used the present tense on hate twice before making that claim, so again I don’t think you’re being honest with yourself about your own problems. Please seek some kind of mental health assistance. It will be the best thing you can ever do for yourself.

[–]mushroomshoe2 points 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

What the fuck is wrong with you dude, you are REACHING.

[–]politits 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No one prompted you to tell on yourself that you hate women and project that onto “most men.” You chose your own words freely. I didn’t have to reach an inch.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

You just made up the 97% didn’t you! A quick google search (https://www.statista.com/statistics/251886/murder-offenders-in-the-us-by-gender/) shows that for 2020 it’s 77%, with 11.3% women and 11.5% unknown.

[–]politits -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I didn’t make it up. It varies by year. 97% was the case the last time I checked, but I can’t remember what year that was. Just found the stats for 2019 and it’s 89% of murderers that were perpetrated by men. Your 77% stat doesn’t negate the point at all, either. Women commit 11% of murders compared to 77% for men. Men make up 49% of the population, women 51%, yet men are drastically more likely to commit murder.

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-6.xls

Here’s some more data about mass shooters specifically from March 2021: “A staggering 98% of these crimes have been committed by men, according to The Violence Project, a nonpartisan research group that tracks U.S. mass shooting data dating back to 1966.”

https://www.npr.org/2021/03/27/981803154/why-nearly-all-mass-shooters-are-men

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I call BS. You did make it up. The figure “97%” has been used as shorthand for “virtually all” ever since it was cited as the proportion of scientist who “believed AGW”, just as “2%” apparently means “virtually none, so we can ignore it” (except for trans of course). There is a big difference between 3% and 11% is there not?

[–]politits -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Cool. Thanks for “contributing” by calling BS and adding nothing else. Fine, throw the 97% stat out and use the others. 89% for 2019 still stands.

So does your own example where women commit 11% to mens 77% despite being basically 50/50 in population.

That means men are 7 TIMES as likely to commit murder than women and you think that stat is worth celebrating because it’s not 97%?

Or you think it’s not a big deal because it’s slightly less completely horrific than 97%?

Guess there’s no massive epidemic in male violence after all, because 77% and 7x more likely aren’t bad at all nor indicative of a shocking and completely unaddressed issue that poses a threat to literally everyone on earth.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I did “contribute”. I showed what the stat for 2020 was. It’s unlike to be radically different in other years. And the figure is 77%. You just made up the 97% figure didn’t you, and when pointed out you just doubled down and pretended it was a real statistic.

And you moan about me calling that BS when you pretend it’s a real figure?

[–]politits 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

“Isn’t likely to be radically different” the year before yours was a 12% difference from your stats. You’re claiming like a 9% difference from that stat would be incomprehensible and impossible when a 12% leap in that same direction was just proven using the same data you used. You can call bullshit all you want, at this point we’re arguing semantics. Point is, even with the lowest figure we found there is an undeniable male violence epidemic and no other rational explanation behind men being at minimum 7x more likely to commit murder.

We are failing to address this deadly epidemic that likely stems from male mental health issues related to anger and ending in violence, and until we admit that this is a problem, which is undeniable from a statistical standpoint, we can’t do anything to fix it since we keep pretending this problem doesn’t exist in the first place.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What rot. You never provided a link to the source you used for 2019. So I’m going to assume it merely says that 11% of murders were committed by women, and assume that all other murders were committed by men. The 2020 figures I linked to said that just over 11% of murders were known to be committed by women, about 11.5% by unknown gender and 77.3% by men. So the figures are actually probably very similar. That is 11% (with rounding) by women and 89% by men (and unknown). And as I said, I notice you didn’t provide a link to the source to show the 89% were just men rather than men and unknowns.

Regardless, you made up a figure, and had the gall to claim it was a real statistic.

[–]politits 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-6.xls

It’s really telling that you’re spending all of your time and energy nit picking the exact statistics while ignoring the entire point of this backed by repeated and undeniable evidence, including the stats YOU provided which paint the best case scenario that either of us could find, which proves beyond all reasonable doubt that there is a massive male violence and murder epidemic.

You’re not even bothering to mention that in any of your replies, just trying to distract from it by bickering over single-digit percentage points of data.

So fine, as I said before: let’s leave out the 97% stat. Forget it. The 2019 stats say 89% as you can see above, so does 2012 as you can see below. You found stats from 2017 that sat 77%? So let’s say the numbers average somewhere between those two percentages. That means men are 7-8x as likely to murder someone than women any given year. What is your explanation for that?

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The real difference isn’t the proportion or murders committed by women, but the proportion of unknown gender, which is 0.9% rather than 11.5%.

So I doubt the year by year analysis really moves that much in terms of the proportion women committing murder. Whilst men commit far more of them than women do (overwhelmingly against other men btw) your made up figures reduced the proportion of murders committed by women by a factor of 3.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Masculinity is always good and positive. Its never toxic, by definition. If it is toxic, it is not masculinity.

And "not toxic" doesnt mean "not bad to others". It is to be good for a man, and thats it.

Taking anything too far is a bad thing. That’s what “toxic masculinity” means. You’re attempting to redefine it specifically to make sure that anything synonymous with “masculine” means good, which is ridiculous. Toxic masculinity exists and it hurts men as much as anyone:

the pressure to always be tough and “be a man” and never cry and never show weakness is a sure fire way to lead to mental health issues, violence, and suicide

having a meat and fat based diet and thinking vegetables and other healthy foods are “gay” or for “girls” or “pussies” leads to a higher risk of heart disease, cancer, and an overall lower life expectancy

You can’t tell me that neither of those examples exist, or that they aren’t toxic, or that they aren’t typical of men. You can take anything too far to the point that it’s bad for you. Using your example: too much of a good thing… and masculinity fits that perfectly. Is being tough good? Yes. Is being too tough for your own hood both possible and bad for you? Yes and it’s very common and the effects can be catastrophic on both an individual and societal level.

Because no woman ever takes anything too far. Drop the "masculinity", then we might talk.

Masculinity is ALWAYS good. If its not - its not "masculinity" by our drfinition. What is "good" for that man, only he defines. If its deterimental to anyone other than men - its not our problem. Society can always be forced into changes - feminism shown us thst this is possible, by various means. We should learn to be effective.

We aren’t talking about women. You’re deflecting and distracting. It’s not a comparison or a competition and nothing you said negates the harmful and very real effects of toxic masculinity.

Men are hurting themselves and each other and other people are victimized by their violence as well when men snap under the pressure that we/themselves/society put them under. That has nothing to do with women aside from women also buying into toxic masculinity and going along with men always having to be tough and bury. But the culture surrounding men burying their feelings combined with the societal pressures of modern life has created a mental health epidemic that has resulted in mass violence.

Everything you described is not masculinity. Masculinity is always, by definition, good for a man in question. Mind you, only for him.

Men dont exist for society to profit from, and especially not for women. We exist for ourselves, first and foremost.

That’s just so incredibly dumb. The definition of masculinity is not “good.” Look it up in a dictionary. YOU think it’s good no matter what, even though every culture on earth acknowledges that you can take anything too far to the point that it becomes a problem.

You are objectively wrong here and your argument has all the maturity and intelligence of a five year old saying “nuh uh. Is not.”

And that second paragraph is literally nonsense. You used a bunch of words to try to sound smart but actually said nothing. It doesn’t even pertain to the argument we’re having. It’s a meaningless collection of words put together basically at random. But you’re clearly very proud of that “thought” so I’ll give you a pat on the head and a gold star for participation.

According to feminists, "patriarchy" and "toxic masculinity" (however defined... I've heard multiple definitions for each concept) are transhistorical phenomena which are deeply ingrained in human society. If this is the case, however, it makes one wonder why school shootings are so rare. Not to mention it makes one wonder why the USA seems to have more of these relative to other Western nations (I'm not sure if this is quantitatively true but we seem to hear more about school massacres in the US than anywhere else, if someone has better stats please let me know).

Furthermore, it seems (from, again, observation) that mass school shootings are relatively modern phenomena (again, I fully admit I may be wrong here!). Considering that, to at least some degree, skepticism towards gender roles and criticism of traditional roles has increased over the last 5 decades or so, shouldn't that have reduced school shootings over that time frame if traditional gender roles are what causes those shootings?

I'm certainly willing to accept that gender expectations may have played some role in this shooting, but recitations of "patriarchy!" and "toxic masculinity!" strike me as sloganeering rather than any attempt at actually solving the problem.

I’m more or less on her side most of the time, but unfortunately, she leans very heavily on her identity as a woman sometimes, to the exclusion of male perspectives.
