Why is she not in jail?

He got tossed into jail based on her word. She has gotten money, protection from the government when she lost said money, and now she won't be prosecuted after admitting to a false accusation.

Really dumb question: Why did she even get 1.5 million in the first place? Even if she did get raped, why the cash settlement? Drop the cash settlement. Period. Even if you did. Scumbag justice system shouldn't be sending innocent people to jail AND pay off the accusers.

Counterintuitively, lottery winners (and other windfall incomes like professional athletes) are statistically more likely to go bankrupt even though they have more assets than the average person to spend. This is true for both genders. Money unearned is not valued.

This is not necessarily unfair. Would you feel better if Gibson had remained rich by saving, investing wisely, and held the money in a secret offshore account that was equally untouchable by creditors?

I really felt disappointed at the number of comments missing the point, asking people to forgive her because Brian forgave her.

If you can be that lenient to a woman who put this man through an immense punishment that he did not in any way deserve, why not use the same leniency when criticizing men?

Also, did she really blow her entire 1.5 million dollars? I just heard that she has not yet agreed to pay it back. I find it hard to believe she could blow 1.5 million dollars when she was dirt poor.
