Depends on what you mean by "dating". If you mean discussing how hard it is to get a woman, then I kind of agree. But there's lots of other issues related to dating. Like having your date falsely accuse you of rape/sexual assault/domestic violence. Or having your date be abusive, trapping you into child support, etc. Dating can include lots of stuff.

Yes. Let's also focus on "legal" theft like alimony. Constructing acceptable homeless shelters in every major city for men specifically. Hell, let's regain the Boy Scouts. It's absolutely pathetic that boys don't have a group of their own to grow up in and learn how to be men anymore.

I agree dating shouldn't be the only thing discussed on this subreddit, but it absolutely has a place here.

Unfortunately, interaction between those of opposite gender is, by definition, a gender issue, and one of the most common interactions between people of opposite gender involves dating. There are common gender specific patterns you can point to here, with male loneliness, the incel movement, suicide rates, rape-accusation culture, and so on... These all definitely qualify as mens' issues.

Overall I agree with you. However, I don't mind seeing those posts every once and a while, because:

A lot of the struggles men face today come from a generation of boys having their sexuality demonized. That's an endemic issue to our culture, so while it isn't legal, it's absolutely an issue that deserves attention.
There aren't many spaces where men can discuss these topics without getting beaten to a proverbial pulp. The comic of the pink blob who's punched back into her box and says "never again" comes to mind. Not all guys are into mgtow or red pill stuff, and most of reddit is incredibly toxic towards men when it comes to dating.
As others have said, men have a lot of issues in dating beyond getting laid. False accusations, female-on-male rape, reproductive rights, and a bunch of other issues all intersect with dating.

I wouldn't want this sub to be flooded with posts from guys lamenting that they're single, but if it's on occasion, I won't downvote. Lots of those guys have spent their entire lives getting the message that they're born predators, that merely existing in the same space as women is harassment, and that the only way to make women feel comfortable (which we're told is always the one and only priority) is to never express our sexuality.

So, these issues aren't all legal, but it's still widespread enough and comes from a place rooted in ubiquitous misandry, that I don't think we should dismiss it entirely.

I think this is a very naïve and dismissive take on the matter, if not one that simply seeks to derail conversations about the matter or just approach it from an extremely privileged position. Dating is not a secondary issue. Acceptance from the opposite gender, sex/intimacy and marriage all have a significant impact on men at every single stage of their life, in every single possible aspect of their lives.

Everything men do, from the time they hit puberty(possibly even before then) is driven by their desire for sex, acceptance, love and companionship. Every man, in every culture, is out there slaving their lives away hoping that will be enough for them to support a wife and kids, or hoping it will make them stand out to a potential partner. Every aspect of your life that involve people, whether that's work, school, hobbies, friends or the justice system, is influenced by those connections and pursuits for affection.

Men not being able to build the lives they desire, or experiencing basic fundamental aspects of life(for which they were biologically programmed to seek out) is a lot more than just "trying to stick their dick in someone", and considering how many men die/suffer to depression and isolation, or how many men risks/sacrifice their lives in order to get those dates, it's an incredibly shitty thing to try to act like it's not an important issue.

Dating, including sex, love, romance, marriage, and relationships in general is one of the most important issues than can be discussed. Nearly everyone wants and has such relationships, nearly everyone is born of such relationships. For a civilization to not only remain stable, but to survive into the future, men and women must be able to have functional healthy romantic relationships.

Dating is vastly more important than conscription or circumcision.

It’s not that other issues aren’t important, they are, but dating is one of the most important MRM issues and societal issues in general.

While I agree about the dating/relationship complaints on this sub, I think you'll be hard pressed to find much agreement about which issues are actually important. I'm rather uninterested in circumcision and the draft. I think issues around education/votech, labor rights/inequality/access to female dominated fields, and custody/access/family rights are primary. Everything else (95% of this sub) feels secondary to me.

Not at all controversial, but getting other men to listen to...look I know she's hot, but you've got better things to do like put favorite activities here. Work on yourself before you even start dating it will make dating easier if you go this path. How do we get them to listen to this when it's old but true. It is the path, thus is the way.

I think we need to organize the sub a bit and have daily mega threads where users can submit these issues freely but not interfere with the move movement based discussions.

Many other subs have certain days they can unload all their thoughts but it’s 15 posts an hour about minor inconveniences so it isn’t bogging the entire sub down.
