Do men really get a fair trial?

Sorry lads. Sometimes, to some people, to be a man, is to be born into guilt.

Guilty for crimes he never committed, and guilty for the actions of other men.

Collectively guilty for all the world’s ills - for everyone, everywhere, and for all of time.

‘Men’.

The original sin, the evil sex, the tyrannical oppressor class; they are the ghoul under your bed, the shadow beneath the stairs, the patriarch atop the high tower.

Naturally, this translates into criminal court.

Where men are more likely to be imprisoned, and will receive longer sentences if they are, even when committing the same crime as a woman… and doubly so for black men.

Yes. Longer sentences, for the same crime.

More likely to be incarcerated, under similar criminal circumstances.

I believe they call that ‘systemic sexism’, or ‘institutional sexism’, take your pick, it needn’t matter, as I hear such things against men “don’t exist”.

But the facts don’t lie.

Equally criminal women are seen as less culpable, less dangerous, and less deserving of punishment (especially when the victim is a man), and so women are therefore treated with more leniency.

It is the invisible and benevolent privilege of being seen as inherently innocent.

Whilst if women are to be found guilty, her actions will likely be seen as “forced”, and probably by a man.

So, whilst men are made accountable for the crimes of others, many women aren’t even seen as responsible for their own.And for some that still isn’t enough.

Many are calling to close women’s prisons altogether - for what use is a prison for the innocent gender, and society’s perpetual victim?

So how have we arrived here?

And will we ever utter the forbidden words “systemic sexism against men?”

Are we gonna ignore the fact that the UK has passed a law that allows women to be exempt from any judicial punishment? Because I’m pretty sure that’s quite concerning.

Disparities in sentencing represent only a fraction of the problem. Women are statistically less prone to being arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for identical crimes. In certain countries, specific offenses don't acknowledge women as potential perpetrators, absolving them from facing charges for such crimes. Furthermore, some countries impose male-specific penalties, such as caning/whipping and various forms of castration (both physical and chemical).

The 9th picture with those articles.. "women should not go to jail", "women offenders should be sent to support centres, not prison", etc. Are people actually that insane to make those heading statements? Holy fuck

Okay, we want women's punishment to match men's or lighter sentences for men?

I honestly think that jails should serve as reeducation tools to address the root cause of crime and provide an inmate with tools necessary to avoid doing other crimes.

To do that we would also have to have a society that doesn't marginalize criminals by: denying them housing, not hiring them and ostracizing them.

But it is almost impossible.

This is why we have to be careful with the "men are more aggressive" stereotype as some research has found there being little sex differences in aggression.

Its insane how many privileges women have. The same is happening in Poland. Men are discriminated everywhere. Retirement age 65 for men, 60 for women. if you work as a driver or in magazine ( you as a men according to law must lift to 30 kg, women 12.5 kg FOR THE SAME PAY. ) If a war would happen only men will be conscriptied. Women here in Poland are getting lesser sentences for the same crimes as men. And now the best part. We have a new goverment and guess what they created. "equality team" Some of you may say this is good for men. Nope this team is full of man hating feminist and they already said retirement age will stay as it is and their first priority is "wage gap" because women are getting paid lesser than men which is fake if you will look into stats

Report says there is racism in judiciary & non- white people get harsher punishment. There's collusion/ corruption in the system as well & there are petitions to get this stopped. Evidence deliberately ignored & no cross examination of female as she already cried, so judge says no to questioning her on her allegations. Are judges allowed to deliberately ignore evidence? As they can include or exclude what evidence to use? Then what's the point of the evidence act? Law is law & even judges needs to uphold it not ignore it& their oath states to uphold law

I was found guilty of controlling behaviour & even what she said was factually false but judge could not work it out, as others did or was it a case of trash this evidence as he got the power or abuse power & independence

Are you aware of what public parking lots are doing now? Prioritizing pregnant women over the disabled.

The first few rows used to be reserved for disabled people, but now it's "Expecting Mother's Parking Only" and then Curbside pickup, and then it's disabled parking.

I went to court about a dozen times while I was locked up and every time I was in court there were about twenty other men and maybe four or five women. Every time I saw the judge go easy on the women, give them slaps on the wrist and send them home. It infuriated me to no end. It's really bullshit. I already know if I was a woman I never would have even been locked up in the first place. The system is severely broken and unfair.
