You get less of that crap on this sub than anywhere else, but, I have to admit, you do get some of it here. And, just FYI, I wish you'd drop the 2016 bit. This crap has been around since the dawn of time. I grant you the culture war has made it worse, but even the culture war predates 2016.

Acknowledging one has to cope with the realities of the discrimination men face, isn’t trivializing men’s issues. It’s addressing how to react to minimize the potential harm caused by these issues. Obviously this sub gets feminist trolls downplaying men’s issues, that’s part of free speech.

This kind of shit has existed since long before 2016.

The reason why is because although the wrongs of the world are still wrong, the best thing you can do as individual is avoid getting hung up on them to the degree it limits you.

I think most people would agree here with the things you and i both know to be huge issues affecting the male population, but the reality is that it’s going to take an insane amount- more than any single individual can muster - to change that at the institutional level. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still work towards that, or acknowledge what’s wrong with that. You can feel justified in your contempt, even, and find one of the few remaining places to lament. But endless complaining does little. Best thing we can do to separate ourselves from feminists is by realizing this and acting rationally, instead of defeatedly.

There’s two kinds of “get over it”:

The kind said by people trying to trick you into believing you’re wrong when you aren’t.

And the kind that means they agree but they are advising that you must still live your life as if you’re a free man, whether you are or not.

Men should be able to cope with most things that are normal life challenges. The problems involve stuff that is completely abnormal, such as false rape allegations with presumption of guilt.

yeah the men's rights movement as it appears on here seems to want to encourage people to be a bunch of rugged individualists up against an organized mass movement with media, government, and capitalist firms on its side, and make no demands that new or existing institutions address the special problems of men as a group

I've made a post about how I've been unlucky, and also complained that on top of all that this happens. Imagine what that says to the rest of men.

Men often help each other both by providing support and by reminding each other that, most of the time, we just need to toughen up because nothing is going to change. I actually think this is a much healthier way to support each other than circlejerking victimhood and hate mongering.

It's two different things which sometimes gets mixed up, and unfortunately a hurting and depressed person is likely to hear both as a personal attack.

It's a huge difference between "get over it, stop whining!" and "yes I agree the world (not you) is wrong but you have to get over it, because there's not much else to do"
