Patriarchy is a false description of society that I will not accept as a reason for the disadvantages men or women face.

Our society has progressed from one which focused on manual labour, had shockingly high child mortality, low life expectancy and no contraception to one which has primarily mental not physical labour, low infant mortality, high life expectancy and widely available contraception.

This relatively sudden change has challenged traditional gender roles which previously made sense given the issues I mentioned. There are old stereotypes about gender behaviour which should be questioned. Those stereotypes do not exist because of a system designed by and for the benefit of men. That system never existed and it's absurd to insist that it did.

The problem is feminism only concerns itself with the elements of "patriarchy" that effect women negatively. If something about patriarchy effects men negatively, it's either not on the feminist radar or they will actually fight to keep it if it benefits women.

I'm glad you're here asking the questions and don't let the downvotes discourage you from getting a better understanding.

Men here are fighting for so, so, so much more than not being allowed to cry. That's so far down the list of inequalities that it's not even on most MRAs radar. I don't know why feminists seem to always think that's like our number one issue?

Anyways...

Women are LEGALLY privileged in the west.

Women are the default parent in divorce. A mother has to be seriously abusive or mentally ill before family courts will even consider giving custody to the father.

Men have zero reproductive rights. Women can choose to not be a parent at any stage of pregnancy and even after birth (due to safe haven laws)

Men must sign up for the draft in order to vote or to have any federal government aid. A man that does not sign up for the draft cannot get student loans, housing subsidies, food stamps, etc. Women are not limited here.

The Duluth model says that in every domestic abuse situation, they must arrest the largest aggressor... Which is 99% of the time a man. If the woman is beating him with a baseball bat and he never touched her, and he calls the cops, HE will be arrested.

My guess is you'll blame all of these on patriarchy, but it was feminist lobbying that put every one of these into place. Not patriarchy.

That is just the beginning, but let's start with those for now.

Patriarchy is an oversimplified analysis that is more often wrong than not, and has been elevated to feminist mythology and dogma. It certainly doesn't adequately describe gender relations in the modern world.

Evolutionary psychology has probably a lot more to say about why things are the way they are.

Feminist patriarchy assumes men as a class to be utterly psychopathic. Its an extraordinary claim, requiring extraordinary evidence.

You could start by naming legal rights that women lack and men have. For balance, here are some rights men lack and women have, plus commentary on what influenced them:

Presumed custody of children in the case of divorce. This was exacerbated by the Tender Years Doctrine, spearheaded by first-wave feminist Caroline Norton, and perpetuated by feminists through lobbying groups' efforts against rebuttable presumed shared custody.
Seperation of consent to sex from consent to parenthood and the responsibilities thereof. Feminist commentators have said that a unilaterally male-controlled contraceptive would "take away womens' choices".
Bodily integrity (i.e., genital mutilation. For girls its a violation of international law; for men it's at best unusual but tolerable, and at worst actively campaigned for as an eroneous means of combating AIDS). Feminists are curiously quiet on this issue, compared to their efforts on FGM.
Immunity from accusations of rape. Rape requires the perpetrator to have a penis, so when women engage in nonconsentual sex with men, he is more likely to be charged than she is. This is mainly the work of Feminist researcher Mary Koss, from whom feminists get the eroneous 1-in-4 statistic. And if a woman gets pregnant from raping a man (or boy), she can sue her rape victim for child support.

Well, this 'patriarchy' you speak of isn't as bad as you think.
Men are naturally and genetically stronger, faster, healthier, and more durable while also good at leadership, conquering, careers which produce better things for society as a whole that everyone needs like STEM fields.
Women tend to choose jobs which involve 'people, therapy, teaching, art, Gender Studies, and Lesbian Dance theory'. They tend to work less in the same job and take off more for their kids school activities. Men tend to work more and sacrifice more for their families and die more often from job related stress.
I could go on but this 'evil patriarchy' largely doesn't exist. There are evil powerful Can't Understand Normal Thinking women as well.
Some women do empathize with men who are more emotional or have an emotional break. The majority don't want to be with a man like that and will ridicule him for it. I know from personal experience and others will agree that:
Emotions are not weak.
Seeking help is not weak.
Not seeking help IS weak.
I think North Korea is the only country with a 'supreme ruler' and there's rumor he's 'gone' and his sister has taken over. Toxic femininity is much worse.
