Your survey is ambiguous at best. You have several questions relating to social justice, I hope you understand that social justice and societal justice isn't the same thing. In these questions you're basically asking people about their opinion on mob justice and you're doing it on a binary scale without context. I also hope you understand that from question 22. the parts regarding "justice" is actually about ethos and morality, not justice and that paying extra attention to normally marginalized demographics is preferential treatment, not "justice".

Also I hope you can comprehend how asking people about their hardships in their respective gender roles is moot, when the survey doesn't ask for ones gender.

All in all, this survey cannot be used to gather any information not readily available and the information that will be gathered will be skewed by the surveys multiple assumptions and vague formulation. At best this can be used to say "Look, some MRM's feel this or that way" and from there spun to suit defamation.

My advice to all. Don't answer.

I am concerned that there are insufficient protections to prevent AMR/SRS from messing with this survey and causing it to skew the results.

Since the results are so anonymous, I suspect there will be significant manipulation as there was with the last survey on our group.

First of all, I will participate when I have time, and I support all research endeavors that I can. However, I have some concerns here.

The purpose of this proposed study is to examine evaluations of justice and gender role conflict among Men’s Rights advocates on the Internet.

I must admit that your adviser's previous publications on the KKK, Stormfront, and "Hate groups" concern me a bit. It seems like the kind of environment that might create assumptions about what is right, which in turn forces value judgement conclusions about me that I disagree with, but have no opportunity to respond to. This happens far too much in sociological research. Obvious examples from other research that come to mind are literally any paper with the phrase "rape myth acceptance" in it (which it looks like you are not probing for). I'm afraid it looks like your trying to study a "hate group" to see what makes it tick, without really probing whether or not it is a hate group at all.

You realize "social justice" is a key phrase used by many that I tend to disagree with, yes? Consequently, if I read that as referring to the specific "social justice" that is often meant by these people, I might say no to that... and then that can be misconstrued as that I'm against justice. "Evaluations of justice" is more than saying "I'm for justice." And I saw no other obvious moral metrics in your questions.

I can also see you're obviously probing for opinions on feminism, homophobia, personality, and masculinity. The latter two make sense, but I didn't see much that qualifies as "gender role conflict" besides that first. Why no trans questions, and why no femininity questions? What are you looking for here? Are you trying to characterize the movement or individuals within it? It seems that you're defining "gender role conflict" as a response to threatened masculinity and to feminism itself... which will give you the results your looking for, but not actually be informative. Yes, most of us are male, cis, and strive to be "strong and independent" (also libertarian values), and most of us have issues with feminism, but the concept of "gender role conflict" seems to be coming from a predetermined definition that I don't agree with, based upon the questions.

Questions are too vague; some terms that you use are extremely subjective. To obtain clear answers, you need to define them in completely unambiguous terms. (Simply providing a very explicit short text about your definition of certain terms could completely solve this issue.)

Also, you have no way whatsoever of knowing if this survey is brigaded, whether someone answers it multiple times, and whether it will even be answered accurately. At best, your results will be utterly meaningless, and at worst, they will lead you to very skewed and inaccurate conclusions.

Your questions need to be reformulated, and your survey needs to be done through a different medium.

This is the only part of the survey trying to identify disadvantage, yet the primary disadvantage men face is in the legal system. Being slut shamed (by other women, natch) pales in comparison to being charged more often and with worse crimes, jailed longer, etc, etc ,etc.

What is social justice? It's never defined.

I think it's undeniable that this survey is written in a biased manner by someone of SJW temperment, relying on a presupposition of an agreement on a basic SJW worldview which doesn't hold to the populace at large, MRA or otherwise. As such, I don't think it's at all valuable or interesting.

We don't have any guarantee that this process will be unbiased. For example, how do we know that questions will not be loaded such that any answer can be spun for anti-MRA purposes?

Allegations and counter-allegations of ‘phobia!’ point to a disturbing development in the public life of Western societies. The ascendancy of the metaphor of phobia is inversely proportional to the depoliticisation of certain views and outlooks. For example, the displacement of the term anti-Semitism by Judaeophobia represents the supplanting of a political category (hatred of Jews) with a psychological one (irrational fear of Jewish stuff). Similarly, through the narrative of Islamophobia, prejudice against Muslim people is depoliticised and turned into a medical problem.

... Today’s meshing together of moral and medical categories makes it very difficult to have a mature and tolerant exchange of opinions. The labelling of someone’s speech, attitudes or behaviour as a phobia shuts down discussion. It is not possible to have a genuine, substantive debate or disagreement with someone who is diagnosed as phobic - after all, there is little point in taking the arguments of irrational and psychologically disturbed individuals seriously. Apparently, such people don’t have rational political views; they are simply possessed of an irrational mental condition.

So the narrative of phobia absolves people of the tough task of defending their views through debate, by inviting them to medicalise their opponents and in the process close down discussion. The medicalisation of political opponents represents a kind of existential annihilation of those we disagree with. Diagnosed as irrational or ill, they can be safely ignored; their opinions can be treated as symptoms of a mental disorder, which we don’t have to take seriously.

Okay, I filled out your survey. But be careful – This sub has enemies, who will undoubtedly get a hold of this link and spam your research.

As a test, after filling it out I went back to the beginning and, sure enough, I could have easily filled it out a second time. The site is not adequately secure to ensure this is filled out credibly, and will not be a trustworthy source for your Master's research.

I answered the survey, but a lot of the questions aren't very good. You talk about feelings a whole lot, but ultimately feelings don't matter, facts do.
