edit: from skimming through bits of it, that event had fairly publicized protest & scheduled a walk out. The skinny dude was the guy Google fired over "controversial" memos a few years back. Lady saying "men and women are different" and basic biology 101, was referencing that. I would assert that the walkouts the clip of the linked & edited footage (at the 19 minute mark) are doing their whole "James Damore got fired because Google said he was a misogynist!" thing.

Not that it excuses their behavior or the "apparent" walk out on the lady saying there's differences between the genders; they had the self awareness of a goldfish in picking a time to walk out. If they were doing it in protest to Damore, they missed it by a solid 10 minutes. If they were doing it in response to the lady stating obvious biological facts, they are idiots. And perhaps better they did it within the first ~20 minutes of the lecture/debate.

The way that ideas are evaluated in much of academia these days no longer has any relation to the truth or falsity of a claim. Instead it's all about problematizing certain thoughts and concepts. The more "problematic" it is, the less it is accepted or allowed.

The obvious fact of biological sexual dimorphism in humans, even when its existence is properly noted as being at the level of groups, and not something that applies to individuals, is considered very problematic. In the minds of these ideologues it could potentially cause some people to excuse or even uphold "traditional gender norms". You need to understand: they believe there is no greater sin that could be committed than to promote "harmful stereotypes" about men and women. And yes, I call it a sin, because this is a religious mindset, not an objective, academic one.

"Problematizing" something is inherently a moral, puritanical methodology, that has more in common with a cult's practices than with objective scientific pursuits.

This growing corruption of the sciences is what informed the best and most succinct response to this type of nonsense. As Steven Pinker so aptly stated: "The truth cannot be sexist".

It seems to me that they use "activism" to make themselves feel superior. They get media attention, they annoy and destroy the lives of people they decide are enemies because it is too much work to invest in any other skill set for them. It gives their life a meaning and influence. Maths, physics or biology would probably be too difficult for most of them to pursue.

It was proven for decades, if not centuries that women and men don’t have the same biological treat. Does that mean we will be treated inequally? No. It only mean we will be treated differently, there is a difference. That’s why we have woman and man category in sport. That’s why there’s not pad for periods in men’s bathroom and this is why there’s no condom machine in women’s bathroom. That’s difference. Inequality is, maybe, not having diaper distributor in men’s bathroom, or not having changing room for women in a store (Unless the store is directed toward a specific gender)

It's crazy how they immediately try to censor her by sabotaging the speakers. Also the "all women are good women" rule as one exclaims "They brainwashed her too". The lack of self awareness. How can they look back at themselves and truly believe they are the good guys in this.

We have been heading for this trainwreck for decades. The whole cycle is exhausting. For the sake of example, I'm using "Klingon" for demographic here. Assume that Klingon is one of the nonwhite nonmale demographics.

A person can make lots of comments that start with "As a Klingon", which is supposed to bring your attention to the fact that their demo made whatever situation different for them.
Klingons will talk about life in terms of "The Klingon Community". Things they like to do, avenues of their culture, etc.
Politicians can make broad statements saying "Klingons want xyz".

None of these conditions have to necessarily reflect even a majority of people who are actually Klingon. However, non-Klingons are not allowed to address Klingons as Klingons, or remark in any direction based on observed data or patterns. Apply Klingon to any of the plethora of situations that this covers. It's how shit works now. We can only speak on behalf of a group if it fits the very specific neomarxist/critical view of life.

The cognitive dissonance that so many people experience in the real world happens when they meet people of these demographics who don't fit at all. That person didn't get to speak on behalf of "The Klingon Community". It's been my experience in life that there really aren't "Communities". It seems so intentional the way that this was set up to make people hate each other. Gay republicans exist. Female pro-life individuals exist. Some Democrats own guns too.

It’s weird because I was a very liberal humanities major between 2004-2009 in the UC System and I taught at Cal Arts and visited other influential art schools.

When I began it was ok for me to express my frustrations and experiences as a male even though I did not fit society’s expectations. I also hated seeing females suffer who had ambitions outside of marriage and traditional roles.

Around 2012 something changed and a new crop of teachers and majority female students would begin to refuse to acknowledge basic truths like male average height or that men have nocturnal emissions. They claimed all men had vagina envy and that I as a male SA survivor probably liked it. This was all ok and began to be normalized as well as the bullying of males of ethnic minorities.

But, these feminists review each other's work. They simply get their friends, like Gina Rippon, to give glowing reviews.
