So, before I get started I would like to state that I am a woman, so if this is out of place I will of course delete it.

I recently was discussing with a Jewish friend why I am avidly against having any of my future children circumcised. I've watched a few videos (all in hospitals) and the babies all seem to have this horrible cry that I've only heard in these videos, but of course that could just be a small portion of circumcised boys and I had never looked up videos from religious events which I did bring up. I also brought up that I believe it is on par with removing a womans clitoris (something he agreed wasn't right) but he said that I am disrespecting his religion by comparing the two. I tried to discuss it further but everything came back to religion which I can't exactly refute. So, I was hoping for a little help and understanding. Especially if you are a Jewish man, but even if you are not, what is your take on it? I honestly think it is unfair to remove a piece of someone's body when it isn't to save their life but I was told I just don't understand.

I am also married to a nice Jewish boy who wants his sons circumcised but we haven't really had a discussion besides I don't want to and he does. But seeing as I do not have this appendage and can't really speak from personal experience one way or the other; so I am looking to you for your personal thoughts to help me better understand.
